He is growing fast! It feels as if we've had him years instead of a couple months! I think he will be a small male.... If I lift some weighs I may be able to continue carrying him around! Bahaha!
I'm sorry Stoge's weekly pic update is a couple days late... I hope the mustard-toting Baby-Bullie lovers will forgive me... Here's some Beef-Stoeger-Noff for everyone
17 Weeks, 26.6lbs., 14 3/8" at the withers.
We hit another hiking trail this past weekend. I used to hike this trail when I was a kid. Relatively easy with some elevation change. Enough to get Stoges_mom and baby Stoeger sucking air
We knotted 40 foot of climbing rope to Stoge's harness and let him explore the trail (thanks to Phil for suggesting this tether-technique). Our pup loved it! He'd run almost to end of the rope and purposely tumble. He did it over and over. Thoroughly enjoying himself. But I could easily rein him in when need-be.
We met two other dogs on the trail. A three month old Chocolate Lab / Pitbull mix and a gray-faced Ridgeback / Hound mix old-timer.
Once we reached the summit, I had a surprise for Stoges_mom and the pup... A huge fire tower to climb!!! I carried Stoeger up (I didn't want him to think his rope was a bungee-cord ).
I snapped a panoramic pic from up top but for some reason it won't post on here.... The foliage is a little past peak but still a beautiful view.
The trail was an Out & Back so everyone enjoyed the downhill portions after trekking up earlier. Stoeger did some belly-slides down the trail and running/leaping into leaf piles.
Stoges_mom took some pics of this action with her Nikon, maybe she will post up some pics to compliment the story.
Later that day we hit Hooters for some beer & chicken wings. After which, it was time to watch some UFC. Apparently Stoeger and his Mom can't hang (see snoozin' pic).
Sunday we had some yard work to do. Stoeger drove the tractor and acted as foreman while his humans cleaned up his yard. He tried not to look impressed with our performance...
This is the only harness we've tried. He wears it when he is just outside to potty or for the hiking trip where we let him oh farther with a rope. We use the prong collar other times for more control. I have no complaints really. The only pain is at night after think he has used the bathroom for the last time and we take it off.... He has to go again and trying to get it on in a hurry. It isn't too bad.
Thanks SpudsKaiser! We get that a lot. First thing people ask is "What kinda dog is that?" The second thing they say is "Wow, I love his color." or "He is a beautiful brindle."
@Appollosmama we decided to go with a Kong harness after it was suggested to us on this forum.
We went with it for now until he out grows it and we replace it with a Dean & Tyler.
So far I'm quite impressed with the Kong harness. For me it's easy on, easy off Stoeger.
Stoge even helps by pushing his head through
The construction of the mesh seems to be very sturdy, even the powder coated and chromed metal parts are holding up very well.
The chest plate fits him nicely and the harness doesn't rub anywhere causing any discomfort for our little guy.
Hey now, how come my photos don't come out that clear and detailed from my Samsung S4??? One day, I'm going to have to get me a good camera. A real one.
Awesome photos! Such clarity.
If you're unable to download a photo it's because of the size of the file. Your picture resolution is probably set so high that each individual photo is probably 5mb. With this said, just resize the photos in order to send and share.

One of these days I'm definitely going to get one. I guess I'm a little intimidated by all the gadgets on those high speed cameras. I'm just used to pressing one button and hoping for a clear photo.

Steve, I'll take you camera shopping!!!! I was checking Wal-Mart the other day to see if they had any macro lens' on sale and saw they had the Nikon 3100 and 3400 very reasonably priced! I have the 5000 because it has the moveable LCD screen. You might like that feature if you're taking high shots of puppies or any awkward situation. You already know I love the 90! (Stoeger, great choice!!) Thanks for all that great info Stoeger! Apollo has grown out of his current harness. It fits everywhere but that massive neck! I had looked at the Kong harnesses before as I think either Leslie or Trent uses them. Maybe both.
I have the Kong padded collar for Brutus and love it and the Dean and Tyler harness. Would buy them both again!! here's Brut with a nose tuck in my robe during my morning coffee break sporting his kong collar
My apologies to the Stoeger groupies... I've been slackin'! These pics from last week!!!
Here is his update for 18 weeks, 30lbs., 14 3/4" at the withers. We will be weighing and measuring him tomorrow for 19 weeks #-o
Included in this photo update are snap-shots of him obstructing my drive into work, stealing my coffee, Stoge's first pumpkin, his I'm disgusted "that offer on that car was too low" look, out-growing the sink bath pics and let's not forget a dripping off the couch pic!
I hv update pics too!!! Pic #1: I was trying to grab a good pic from the side and was surprised he stayed still long enough for this! He wanted his toy so bad!
Pic #2: he is wearing his fleece from a friend and has an obsession with laying in the windowsill! The sun rises from that direction and it does get pretty warm and cozy there!
Pic #3: so our heat has been outta commission and while waiting for it to get fixed Stoeger has found the warmest place to sleep. Coming in from whizzin in 20* weather I'm sure the heater feels great!
Pic #4: that window sill looks so comfy......(mommy is gonna have to talk to the landlord about this peelin paint though :-/)
Pic #5: in the backyard practicing for obedience class on Wednesday! Sit stay I working awesome. He had a command for eyes that helps when he gets distracted. In this pic the neighbors dogs were barking but I was able to hold his attention for longer than expected! In class with five other dogs in close proximity may be a different story! That's why I like to try to train him outside with all the distractions...... Hopefully it helps!
Yea, he doesn't really fit in the sink anymore but needed a bath in the worst way! We have a stand up shower and I have no idea how to bathe him in there yet :-/
I bought a pet jet at Menards I hook it up to my sink and bath them in the tub. It has a soap dispenser but I've never put soap in it. Beats the cup of water rinsing!!!
I found one on amazon Leslie! I'm going to see if Stoeger can find one on eBay for less and hopefully we will hv it before the next bath is needed! Thanks for that!
Damn it, damn it.... I s watching to make sure I got to make the 400th comment on this string.... ( gotta be a record)...and that sneaky Leslie snuck in there... So I only got number 401! Happy 400th Stoges!

He partied with her all day and boy was he all tuckered out!!!
It's been a few weeks and his ears have stayed up. I'd say we've won that battle.
Some pics of his favorite resting places... The ottoman, front seat in our truck, his office chair at the car lot and the couch.
24.6lbs. at his vet visit, got his last shot. Now it's time for obedience training. 14 inches at the withers.
I'm sure you guys wonder why Stoge's registered name is Rodeo Clown Firm Stoeger At Arms... I think the first few pics explain it, ha!
We will weigh and measure him later today for his weekly stat update.

We keep adjusting it out as he grows. I'm not certain how much adjustment is left... I will check tonight when I get home.
If you meant durability wise... Indefinitely as it doesn't show any adverse wear from his heavy use
some photos wont upload but here are some!

Certainly one to consider when you bite the bullet and buy a quality camera Steve.
I'm always glad to see her break out that camera (since it cost me some serious dough).
If she keeps taking these great pics my hand might be forced to buy her a couple more lenses.
