Nope never seen a "True" solid black Bull Terrier or even a "True" black and white Bull Terrier. There are plenty of people who claim to have one and plenty of photos of them which illustrate them as either a solid black or a Black and White. However, in the event you run across one if you look at the bottom portion of their feet you see brindle. The correct AKC name for one would be Black Brindle or Black Brindle and White. I don't recall ever seeing a Bull Terrier that didn't have some white on its chest either.
Here's a photo of a puppy from a past litter that was a Black Brindle Solid:
My wife calls my GN a garage ornament because I rarely take it out to drive it. (Don't want a scratch on it). Nothing better than a shinny Black car but your right, I like all Bull Terriers regardless of color!

I've seen one in our area for stud purposes but like Steve mentioned you can almost always see the brindle in their legs and the white chest. I'm not opposed to any color but so far tri color, white and seeing Stoegers brindle have been amazing.
Spud being a fawn smut is great as well. Everyone who has had interest in BTs that's seen him think he's a mix or just amazed at seeing that color for BT's.
I think we will soon see a day when we have completely solid bull terriers- and I think itll be from us here in the US, right now we are breeding so many solids that-the old rule of "white is always dominate" is no longer always applying.
meaning the solid genes are plentifull!
here in the US I have seen quite a few breeders who are able to get solid colored pups out of a white-colored and white mateing, where as several years ago, the only way to get a solid was a colored and white directly to a solid or a rare chance you had a genetically dominante solid dog to a colored and white.
But now the genes for solids is so strong that, its not uncommon to have several solids pop up in a litter of 2 colored and whites with a solid several generations back.
Chimeras line has a nice strong solid gene, even though both of her parents were heavily white marked, 2 of the 3 pups were nearly solid-its from her fathers side, he also produced a litter with a solid white dog and produce 3 solid black brindle pups-which, most will tell you is impossible-which, is so several years ago, but due to so many people cobining solid dogs to create solid dogs, they have strengthend those genes, and in some dogs, those solid genes are stronger then the white genes!
I think Stoegers right. Thanks as well. I'm really debating on getting another to have as companion. It's been four months with him and I would do it again in a heart beat.
I've been reading up Steve, you probably wrote what I read, haha!
So you're looking for a buddy for Spud? Female I assume..
Stoges_mom and I really wanted a Red & White or Tri-Color.
The first litter we had a deposit for 3rd male pick. Only one male was born and he was a beautiful Red & White.
So we moved our deposit to the next litter, ended up with first pick.
I'm glad we found our unusual Brindle & White boy but if we ever got a female for Stoeger... I'm certain we'd hold out for a Red & White, even consider Fawn & White or a uniquely marked Tri-Color like the one pictured below.

I don't think the same applies to Bullies, Colored or White, you can't go wrong.

I wonder if these dogs might have been outcrossed to get more black?

Smut refers to a black muzzle.
The black on Spud looks to be mostly skin pigment.
