Because we have no intention of breeding her, but want to breed him and leave him intact... but Sir Hump-a-Lot is likely to present his sister with some redneck stepchillen.

When people show their affection without reserve we say that they wear their hearts on their sleeves..... Well we all know how big Marco's heart is because he wears it on his nose!
That's what I'm saying, it's a perfect heart shape... Every time he looks at you it's like he is saying " I love you".... Like Bullies don't do that any hoo :o3

So Isabella had to go back to the vet. The seroma fluid was leaking badly and I think both the swelling and the fluid had caused the "glue", that they use these days, to come away. We watched her like a hawk every second since she came home and are 100% sure she never strained or bit at her incision .... I am sure they used too few stitches and relied too much on glue.... They stapled her up on the second visit and now she is fine. The reason I bring this up is because I think with the bull breed they are too muscular for sutures and glue alone ... Should always be stapled in my opinion .... So for others that are going to take their girlies in for spaying ... Find out first.
Poor girl I'm so sorry phil scary stuff.. when cleo was spayed they used the sutures I can't believe they tried to glue the incission that's just stupid, considering the density of the patient and well her internal organs could have fallen out.....uggg so glad shed ok!!!!!! Give her a big hug and kiss for me
Your actions speak so loudly I cannot hear your words.
I too am glad she is doing better. They wanted to glue Karamel after a C-section and I said no-Staples. Worked out great, no infections or leakage. Was tough to keep clean from sweat and puppies feeding. But 24/7 attention and all went well.
Well, she was, then she had a relapse. The edema we believe was caused by a bad reaction to the suture type used. Obviously this reaction was the cause of the wounds not healing/sealing initially... Thus the staples required on the surface incision ...but internally the sutures were obviously not boding well with her internal organs, and after 4 days she started bleeding from her vagina. So, back to our original vet in Ft Lauderdale, who changed her antibiotic and told us if the bleeding didn't stop and the wound didn't heal inside two days, he'd have to open up and start again. We were not looking forward to putting through that again. Anyhow, the weeping has now stopped as has the vaginal bleeding.... Thank God! Through the whole thing she has stayed strong ( bullies for you) has been in good spirits, and wanted to play, eaten her food etc. so, hopefully in a week she'll be fine. I post all this to demonstrate two things.... You can never be too careful and you have to watch every little reaction.... And, secondly, vets suck! Big time! They know so little about bullies... They used a suture material called PDA (Polydioxanone), which our original vet says he had many bad reactions with... He uses Vicryl which is much more expensive I believe. Never spare the time or expense to use a good vet, if you can find one... Seems that most struggled through high school!.... Ours is now an hour and a half away... We're not using any of these local bozos ever again.

And Spaying is supposed to be such a simple op. I know plenty of people ( my son in law included) that just take their bitches to the Animal Shelter and pay them $20.00 and take them home 2 hours later...!! With Bullies everything seems to cost more.... You be sure Sophie gets proper attention when her time comes... You don't want her shacking up with Granpa Zeus 8->

I just can't get a good picture of Isabella's face.. It always looks elongated, and it isn't but, I kid you not, she has the most beautiful Bully face on earth (I know, all dad's say that, but it's true!)
Oh she looks great! Love them triangle eyes. The head and muzzle don't really fill out until they are older. Isabella is still young with a lot of developing to do. Save that photo and take another in 12 months and you'll see a big difference.

Phil, attached below are some random photos of Cyra through her stages of development. Look how much change there was in the structure with her head and muzzle. She was almost 2 years old before her cheek bones started coming out providing a thick appearance along with a wide muzzle girth.
She is big especially for a female. I haven't weighed her lately but I'd estimate her current weight to be about 70 pounds. Cyra is our biggest female. Many times when people come here to visit our dogs they say "Oh, he's a nice looking Big Boy." Nope "He's" a girl with a big head on her.

Steve, And your opinion on these dimensions: @ 7 1/2 months Marco: (62lbs) Height to shoulder: 18" Shoulder to Hip: 18" Hip Width: 8" Isabella: (53lbs) Height to shoulder: 17.5" Shoulder to Hip: 17.5" Hip Width: 7.5"

Those dimensions are very good for a well structured Bull Terrier. Actually most EBT's are lucky to be at the weight of both your male and female. I'm estimating Marco to grow at least another 2" and Isabella another inch putting them both at a good height. It's at this time I'd be providing them a diet high in protein. The raw meats will help them at this stage to gain the muscle mass you may want to see. At their age it's almost impossible to get them to bulk up since they're so active and their metabolism is so high. However, once they reach their final height it will be at that time the capabilities of adding muscle mass will be a lot easier. Based on their age now's a really good time to initiate a diet high in protein and carbs. Years ago I tried to product "canine carboload" but I didn't see any differences. The best asset towards building more mass was adding raw meat. The weight gain recipes you've seen me attach on other posts is a guarantee for adding weight and muscle mass. I truly think your Bullies are developing very nicely. Marco is going to have a nicer head and overall structure based on what I see but they both look very appealing and their development is right where it should be. What is the size of their necks? Just curious of current bulk and the neck is a good indicator for bulk and mass.

For their age that is really good. Double Deuce Dakota is older than your Bullies and her neck is 17". Both your Bullies are developing nicely and I think they will be nice sized.

For Isabella try and take a side profile of her head like this:
