Talking Bullies

I wanted to know if forum members had any thoughts on Bull Terrier vocal communication ability.?? Our last girl had a very responsive "speaking" sounds. If you placed your head near hers and made humming, grunting, cooing, sighing sounds, she would mimic them with uncanny accuracy ( obviously we repeated the ones she could closely replicate... ) but it was a very close, different form of communication. But it was always responsive, never initiated by her. My son's giant schnauzer howls magnificently, even mimicking the chords of "happy birthday", and everyone wants him to sing along at their birthdays. But that's howling and responsive again. Our current pair of 13 week old siblings has a guy who talks all the time. ( I don't know how many of you are old enough to remember) the sound of the old dolls "mama" voice box, every time you turned dolls over they made this guttural "mama" sound... Well he makes that sound exactly and many other communicative sounds, uninitiated !!, just to get a message, normally of happiness ( to see you, to be picked up) He tries to communicate with this combination of "talk" sounds.....all the time
I've never heard of any dog besides a bully speak this way.... Anyone else?

In the beginning God created English Bull Terriers, in the image of EBT's, God created all other breeds.

I love when bullies talk. Casper (our oldest) will hum back at you if you hold her close and talk to her.
Kimba (the daughter) has also started this as well or just making whines/hums when she wants to talk. Kimba also likes to greet us by running up wagging her tail and making a funny low growl sometimes (definitely different from her aggressive ones). In the mornings when its her turn to come out she makes "chubacca" noises lol
Heres a video i made of Cesar "grunting"
(PS - I embedded your video so it could be watched on the same page verse linking to YouTube)

If by "fluent" you mean, once the inevitable snoring sets in, Djamila has to "flow" out of the bedroom, we sure are. )
We've really tried to let her sleep with us, because she loves it and we love to have her close. But most of the time at some point during the night it's becoming just impossible to sleep, only because of her snoring. That's were this cartoon illustration of mine originated from.
Thanks!
I just remembered that we managed to capture Djamila's snoring one evening ... and the funny way she sleeps while we watch TV almost every evening. Sometimes she wakes up with imprints of the the bars she is leaning against in her face )

The snoring is dreadful, but I got a white noise machine that plays rain sounds, and I turn it up high when I go to bed. It helps me sleep when she makes noises like a foghorn.

I'm not sure I'd recommend it, because after two months it has started to act funny - volume goes up and down, or sound is muffled. But at least it's a start.
