Found one of the most disturbing breeders out there.
Well, long story short, I found this FB page and am absolutely disgusted. He is breeding subpar dogs, but the most disturbing part is that he is having a puppy off! Breaks my heart.

What in the world is a puppy off? That doesn't have a good sound to it.
Saddly, I've seen so many breeders that mirror these guys over the years but on a good note the never last long. They'll stick around for about 3 or 4 litters and after discovering that people see right through them, notice the faults in their dogs, see the environment they are raised in, and have questionable concerns in the character of the breeders they fizzle out. Their motive is financial gain but when puppies hit around 12 weeks of age and can't be sold (raffled off) or found homes they usually resort to finding other methods of making money or hustling money.
The beauty about the Bull Terrier breed is the fact that it's an AKC breed that still maintains pedigree value (for now anyway) and the average price tag on a puppy is higher than most other breeds. Yes, this attracts backyard breeders and puppy mills but with the price high on puppies 90% of people conduct thorough research to ensure their money is invested into a healthy puppy with reputable bloodlines that mirrors the breed standards.
For those that love APBT's please don't take this in a negative way. However, often times some of nasty BT breeders evolve from getting into the BAD BOY Pit Bull scene and suddenly find out there's not much financial gain in selling puppies for $300 from the back of their pickup truck at the local WalMart parking lot and decide to try a more expensive breed that may still have that Bad Boy stigma. Knowing nothing at all about the Bull Terrier breed they visit puppyfind.com and get themselves a pair of breeders. Next thing you know you have new breeders evolving like "Frankenstein's Bull Terriers."
Have a look at one of their pictures which actually shows one of their other dogs obviously a APBT with the common 3" rusty chain made into a collar and a huge 3-4" chain leash. This is supposed represent a Big Tough Dog so strong that it requires a battleship ship to be used as a leash to restrain his brutal strength. I guarantee attempts were made to sell puppies from the other APBT's this breeder owns but they soon realized they were producing the same mutts that are overfilling our shelters throughout the country. Now they've come up with a brilliant idea - Breed and sell English Bull Terriers and sell them for for 2-3 times as much as their APBT's.
Analyze this photo of theirs and tell me you don't think both dogs were placed in front of a child that never spent more than a few minutes with either dog which spend their lives chained up in a makeshift kennel behind their house. The purpose of this photo is to attract idiots who will say "Damn, look at those Bad Ass Tough Dogs, and they're good with kids too!"

I still want these dogs to have happy lives. My fingers are crossed that they experience the love that everyone on this forum fills their BT's lives with, not what I see in these pictures.

Eeek, another nut to make me drink. Things like this are so wrong.
Some breeders have no problem developing a litter of puppies and selling them but when there's a Bull Terrier in need of rescue in their own state they suddenly have no room to foster the Bull Terrier or pretend as though they know nothing about the EBT in need of rescue. I see this every day and all the breeders who call themselves reputable should be shot in the foot for allowing it to happen.
No matter what, there will always be bad breeders out there. The key is to visit multiple breeders and meet with them and their dogs. View photos of the puppies they've had in the past and see how they turned out as adults. All too often many breeders think the mating between two of their gorgeous Bull Terriers will result in Show puppies but then get confused when they discover the puppies ended up being small, skinny, frail, 40 pound adults that have weak qualities and no show potential. This could be very disappointing for someone that paid a lot of money for a Bull Terrier in which they hoped to show but realize many months after the purchase that their Bull Terrier doesn't have the qualities to be a contender. Some breeders who mandate co-ownership may even tell the owner of the puppy who is raising him or her that they are not allowed to show their dog because they know it lacks the qualities and do NOT wish to exploit their bloodlines at a show with a BT that lacks good qualities. It the "Hide the bad, Show the Good" mentality. Showing isn't all about the way a dog looks either. Their temperament, character, and gait is judged too.
I've put this link out several times in the past and it speaks volumes in regard to key aspects in finding reputable Bull Terrier breeders. Many other breeders disagree with some of the things I've mentioned within the article but only because it pertains to an area they may not be doing or feel is important. However, responsible owners looking for a responsible breeder may think otherwise.
