Just got home with this BIG guy and he's all over the house having fun. I would like to thank all of you guys on the forum for your support and especial Steve and the bullies of nc crew for my puppy journey.

Oh he's settling right in and loving life with his new owner! Atiba has been on this Forum for a year now and on our Waiting List even longer. I'm glad he finally got his puppy and can now share photo's of his own Bullie. I can't wait to see Melo as a full grown adult Bullie.
This morning we had another couple drive in from VA to pickup their puppy. Ug, there's only one puppy left and she leaves soon too.  (   The last puppy is always the hardest to see go. On a happy note we still have Melo's sister "Nitress" here with us to raise and join the pack of Bullies of NC dogs. She is fitting right in with the family and doing excellent.

So I tried to introduce Melo to my aunts 4 year old Maltese that comes to my house frequently throughout the week and it didn't turned out too good. The Maltese tried snap at melo every time he came to play. Any suggestions, I want theses guys to get along because I know when melo gets older he's going to dominate the Maltese. The Maltese is a male also

My suggestion would be keep Melo away from the Maltese if he's got an aggression problem and find an alternate dog that's been socialized properly which doesn't feel the need to snap at a small puppy with intent to cause harm. My advice would be encourage your aunt to allow her Maltese quality time with other dogs so his temperament and character can be trained properly to get along with other dogs.
It's one thing to witness an older dog "air snap" at a puppy as a warning to them that their behavior isn't tolerated but if the dog is actually trying to take a bite that's not good at all and wouldn't suggest keeping Melo around any dog with that kind of temperament. Take another look back at the recent video I took of Lucian with puppies jumping all over him. I think it will give you an idea of proper tolerance towards puppies.

Normally, Phil would be able to enlighten you on the fact that Bullies are referred to over-seas as Pig Dogs

He brought it to my attention when I mentioned Stoeger's sire's name Varkhond's Electric Spoon Man... He pointed out that Varkhond means Pig Dog in Afrikaans.

So the pig look-a-like reference is nothing new for the breed

So beautiful!  Laughing at the piggy comments.  Got that all of the time, too.  The weirdest was the number of times people thought I had an ant eater.  They were sooooo confused at what I was walking on a leash.

Did you tape his ears by yourself?  Remembering all of the puppy energy and nipping, that is something I'd need help with to distract him.

Melo is absolutely perfect!  Looking forward to seeing more of him.

Just took this little BIG guy to the vet today. They said he's one of the healthiest puppies they ever had and he's 13 POUNDS at 8 1/2 week!!!!!

I'm no superman but I will admit both my wife Julie and I take to each litter with the utmost attention to ensure the puppies are as healthy as possible. We get very attached to them and it's only natural to take great pride in them. Melo is a great puppy and will progress into an excellent example of the breed. I'm confident Atiba's updates will validate that.
My joy is hearing the positive feedback from owners who love their Bullie and provide the best possible care for them. I LOVE seeing them get big and enjoying life with their owners. There's no better satisfaction for a breeder!

Atiba. So sorry I've been soooo busy, I haven't had 2 minutes to comment, but I have been following ( mostly while driving so you'll forgive me for not writing)... He looks fantastic and obviously he couldn't have found more loving and nourishing environment if he tried! I am positive he is going to become a star of our show here, so keep posting...... Just don't let your love of him allow him to get away with too much.... He'll be trying, trust me.

It ok Phil... I too have been real busy as of recently... School, working and taking care of melo but he's such a good boy I have no complains (yet)... He sure is a fiesty little guy once he finish eating, I guess it's the high quality kibble and genetics. I do keep a firm Hand with him but I wish I could say that about my family members lol

Yes.. You have to be sure that the family members don't love the heck out of him and thus he doesn't liste to you commands ...otherwise he'll have the tendency to say " screw you atiba cooper, I'll take it from here" tough love!

Melo stools have been very soft and I'm thinking it diarrhea. I don't understand, I'm feeding quality kibble victor grain free. Any suggestions ?

Thank you @apollomom, I feed him bison treats but the diarrhea recently just started, ever since I ran out of the royal canin sample puppy food. I was mixing it with the victor and slowly Lessing up on the royal sample that came with melo. Now that's it's done I've just been feeding him the victor and this is when the diarrhea has started. Is it because of the switch of the food????

Loose stool is common for puppies if their food is changed. Just give him a couple days for his digestive system to get used to the Victor. The Bison flavored Victor is awesome but I've noticed that our Bullies prefer the Salmon flavored. In the event Melo continues with having diarrhea for more than 2 or 3 days you may want to switch him back to Royal Canin or try an alternate food like Taste of the Wild. Just make sure he's getting plenty of fluids while he's transitioning between foods so hydration doesn't become an issue.
