That seems a bit underweight, even for a mini, do you know if he had to be bottle feed? I would suggest sticking him on some puppy weight gain stuff, I don't know the exact name of it, but it's a high calorie treat they sell at most pet stores to help weaned pups gain weight.
@Boyda - In all actuality BT puppies that are bottle fed with the "proper" milk substitute and supplements have no issues with weight gain. Bottle feeding should only last 4 weeks which at that time puppies are introduced to solid foods by means of granulated puppy kibble and milk formula mixed. From 4 weeks to 8 weeks they will gain an abundance of weight. A 5 or 6 pound BT puppy lacked in both whelping and weening stages which will have an impact in their growth potential. In my opinion, any BT litter over 6 puppies should be supplemented by bottle feeding in order to ensure sufficient milk is being produced by the mother and provided to each puppy. 3 and 4 week old puppies will eat a lot and drain the mother which may leave the next puppy with a nipple that's no different than a pacifier. However, in a sense your correct about bottle feeding if the breeder is not providing a good quality formula to include colostrum for the first few days and feeding the puppies at least every 3 hours during the first week. If bottle feeding is not conducted properly the puppies will be effected as you mentioned.

@bulliesogNC my comment on bottle feeding was for the later part of your statement. I've seen pups in fosters who where supposed to be bottle feed, but the foster wasn't doing it in a timely matter or with a good milk replacement (sorry, but just condensed milk isn't going to cut it, even if you add an egg.) and all the pups where effected. I have no issues with bottle feeding, and agree with the above, I was just trying to figure out why he is so small. Even if he was a pure mini, he should a couple more pounds, those couple more pounds make a huge difference in such a young pup. But as long as the vet says kaiser is healthy, you should have no worries about a happy puppy.
That's a BIG sister he has. Those Cane Corso's look so much like Presa Canarios which seem to be getting more and more popular in this country. I think real soon we'll be hearing more about about them as I'm noticing the APBT crowd gaining interest in them for their size, capable aggression, and Bad Boy stigma. I've got a friend who owns a Presa Canario and he's like a Pit Bull on steroids.
ya cane carso's are kind of a rare breed come by my mother in law want to give me a puppy for free once they breed her but I don't know if I can handle a dog that big lol
In stoegers obedience class there is a female can corso. She is beautiful! Still a baby so not too big, very good dog though and she listens so well, she's on her way to be a therapy dog.
I'm so happy to hear he gained two pounds in a week! You are obviously taking great care of him. Do you have him on any supplements to help? I would highly suggest some vitamins and salmon oil, he'll be a cute lil' beef cake!
I'v been feeding him 3 time a day first meal 1/4 cup of dog food, second and third meals 1/2 cup of dog food and bacon treats for trick training and greenie treats for good gum and teeth health along side with dog mints for good breath but I'll check out the petsmart or petco for some vitamins real soon
I'm offshore and my girlfriend text me telling me the her mom's Cane Corso Ruby feel like Kaisers mom and crys when they take Kaiser out to potty with her and also to Kaiser tried nursing from Ruby is this normal?

It doesn't take long for them to grow. It's hard to believe my Trayler is nearly 30# at 16 weeks.
