(Much depends on the age of your kid), but, If you are just starting raw, as with any significant diet change, do it gradually.... so a tablespoon mixed in to each alternate meal. Then, after a couple of days, each meal. Then gradually increase it to about a biggish cup a day.
In the beginning God created English Bull Terriers, in the image of EBT's, God created all other breeds.
Hi Bizzy! Sorry for the late reply. I provide raw meats to my Bullies. However, I do not provide them a complete raw meat diet. There are some people who swear by it but in order to ensure a complete balanced meal they would be in need of truly calculating the amounts of essential vitamins, minerals, etc in every meal on a daily basis in order to ensure their dog received the proper nutrients to keep them healthy. A high quality 5 star grain free food will do this without any worry of falling short in some areas of nutrition. In the event I wish to provide more protein to one of my Bull Terriers or add weight and muscle mass I will "supplement" with raw meats.
Additionally, for specific health tests and health procedures we utilize NC State Vet school. NC State is rated #2 in the country and they are against raw meat diets due to the various health concerns associated with feeding raw. For the dogs that enter NC State Vet School for surgery or overnight procedure which are on Raw Meat diets they require quarantine away from the other dogs which is at a much higher cost due to the regulations and mandatory procedure for quarantined animals.
Yes, there are some benefits to providing a complete "Raw Meat Diet." Many people often remark about the low volume and frequency of bowel movements. Many also feel it minimizes food allergy disorders. Some are even convinced it provides a better nutritional diet. However, in order for it to provide a "good" well balanced diet it would require the owner to well calculate the nutritional values of each meal. For those feeding their Bull Terrier a high end kibble there is no guessing in regard to nutritional values due to the extensive research in the development of the food by specialists focused on a well balanced and healthy diet. Can me crazy but I have yet to see a muscular well built and proportioned Bull Terrier that has been on a Raw Meat only diet. Please understand, I am not knocking those that prefer raw meat diets but I think there should be a lot of research conducted into the pros and cons prior to making the decision to go "Raw Only."
