Leslie...the air horn does help, however we have a 14yr old male lab that has tried to run away from home because of the horn. Must hurt his ears. So we are trying to only threaten him (once we knew he knew the noise was coming from the horn). Believe it or not, he is getting better. Sometimes I put him in his cage, but it's big enough for him to do the same thing. Danielle had him in a smaller cage, so I guess he couldn't do it there. My cage for him is wire, not plastic.
LOL Stoeger. If he can, he will make the tip of his tail bleed.

He doesn't realize that it is part of his anatomy yet...
Any time we see him noticing his "tail" we deter him from doing so and distract him with a toy.
