new bully girl
hey. havent posted anything for a while. hope all is well. i just got a second bully. she was shipped to me from alabama just a day ago. she is white with brindle ears, very stocky, healthy looking, sweet, and amazingly brave for just a 13 week pup. my only concern is she came to me with a damaged tail. she has pulled all the hair completely out on the tip of her tail and took out some skin with it. i was a bit shocked to see her shipped that way without much of an explanation. the vet paper said "unknown cause" but im sure it has to be food related...right? because she doesnt chase her tail around like my male that had OCD when he was her age but i was on him about it and he has never done it again. Maybe somebody can tell me what exactly is goin on with my girl?
thank you, ryan

Because she came to you this way it's difficult to guess the cause. One thing is for sure, the breeder should have (and probably does know) the exact reason for the puppies bald spot. However, it sounds to me he or she would rather be silent about it just like they were about not mentioning the bald spot when they shipped her.

I'm going to assume your puppy is in need of a better diet. She may have been cooped up all day as well. A 13 week old puppy is very active and require plenty of play time to run around. She may not have been afforded this opportunity.
The tip of the tail isn't the usual place that would become initially affected due to an allergy problem. On the tail it would most often be at the base and at the top of the tail.
Just keep an eye on her and provide her with as much comfort as possible. Now that she's in a new place it can bring on additional stress. However, due to your dedication it could also alleviate stress since she's in a better setting with ample attention and room to run and exercise.
The change in diet will help her a lot. I would also suggest providing her a supplement that may help out with her immune system. I think it would do a lot of good to stabilize her and lessen the degree of built up stress and anxiety.
Your Vet can do a skin scraping test to rule out mange or other skin problems. However, I'm in doubt the cause is from allergies.
On a good note, if she isn't chasing her tail or laying down and biting it then she's obviously enjoying herself and not feeling stressed or bored. If this is the case her tail will clear up quickly.

P.S. it would be nice to see some pics of the rest of her! There is a "rest" isn't there? b-(
