Tripe and Dry Biscuit Diet

hi everyone

I ve been a bit worried about my dogs weight and size so i asked the breeder there advice and they was saying to get her on a low protein and high carb diet.
She is 3years old and only 21kg she is a active dog as i m a athlete and comes on run's with me.

So i've sourced some tripe just wanted to know if any good?

also been looking at dry food has anyone any recommendations on a low protein one?

Also how's best to serve tripe just defrost or cook? and what sort of portion should she have daily is 2 meals a day enough?

Thanks for the advice

From the photo she doesn't look like a miniature BT, is she? Have you had her since a pup? What food has she been eating since you got her? Has she lost any weight or has she been 46lbs for a while? Any idea how much her siblings weigh or her parents?

  • No she's not a miniature BT. Yep had since a pup and she has been only mainly dry food. She has kinda stayed at this weight for a while but she is really active so I don't think the food is really filling her. Her mom weighed like 30kg and not sure about dad but would of said above mom weight. Hope this helps

Yes, "everyday" kibble isn't often going to cut it for an EBT.... Best gradually work her towards the recommendations here:

I'm sure other members will chime in with questions and recommendations.
She sure is a pretty girl, best of luck bulking her out.

  • Most low protein kibble diets you will find will be mostly "light' dog foods or 'weigh control' which are generally geared more towards trying to help control over weight dogs. What kibble did your breeder suggest?
  • the breeder hasn't suggested a dry food to me yet waiting for reply back. Ruby has been on TOTW before but not enough to fill her up with how active she is. So need's to be eating something that will fill her up and put some bulk on her as well. So breeder suggested Tripe and biscuit so i would probably go back to TOTW would that be good enough or is there any recipe's that you could recommend to start her on?

    Thanks for the advice
