How much does your miniature bull terrier weigh puppy?

We just brought home our new 2017 model miniature bull terrier pup a few days ago. Her name is Minnie and she is almost 8 weeks old. We took her for her first vet visit and she weighs a whole 4.8 pounds! The vet seemed to think she was not underweight for her age but I can't help but wonder. This is my first experience with this breed and I am wondering what your pups weighed in at this age?

On this website we always say "smear him with some Grey Poupon, and gobble him up" because he is such a hot dog!
In the beginning God created English Bull Terriers, in the image of EBT's, God created all other breeds.
  • I want to thank y'all for the replies. I am no longer worried about her weight thanks to you. She is 12 weeks old now and weighs 13pounds she has almost tripled in size from in the last four weeks! Built like a tank!

  • No problem my boys always been really stocky so I never knew if he was good size but the vet always told me he was. there such characters and all my family tells me how interesting he is to watch lol I have alot of family scared of bully breeds in general so now that he's big I'm glad I've been able to change all of there perceptions of what people think these breeds are and let them see what they really are which is THE BEST DOGS EVER! We have a dog park opening soon here so I'm excited to take him there to! I'll post some more pics just because :) The other dog in the pic is also a mini bull terrier a female 14 months old AND also when my Chico was a baby

They look great... take a look at our brother & sister ... Marco & Isabella under the post ' Just some photos of the Kids" .. they look so similar. I wish you luck with the dog park... ours always loved them, running like hell and playing with the others, but there was always some arsehole or two (I am not sure whether I am referring to the owners or dogs) that ale]ways wanted to stir crap, picking fights .... We found that the 80% fun was always demolished by the 20% trouble.... so we take them to the dog beach, much better.

  • 13 weeks is a bit young for a spring pole

    Flirt pole yes

No hard pulling till they loose the puppy teeth imho
  • @JParanee She was just getting used to it and learning that it is a toy. I have raised 2 puppies this way and never had a problem with them enjoying a spring pole when they are older instead of not knowing what to do with it and quickly losing interest in it as I have experienced with other dogs. Also instead of a spring I use a very light bunngee cord when they are pups so they don't pull any harder than they would if playing tug with another puppy. But thanks for your advice I appreciate your concern and respect your opinion.
  • My mini is 1.5 y/o and has been right at 30 lbs for the past 8 months. She's playing with her 120 lbs buddy "ghost" in the pic.

  • I had no idea what a spring pole or a flirt pole was before this site . Is this a thing for bull terriers ? Funny thing is I have a heavy bag in my garage and Mackenzie attacks it whenever she gets a chance :) what are the benefits of the pole ?
  • Our mbt is now 9 months old, 18 kg (around 36 lbs). He's bit bigger than other minies, over 39 cm, but cute as cake!
