1 lb of ground beef (browned) meaning cooking the meat correct? How big should the slices be when feeding? This should be given on top of their normal kibble feeding correct?

You don't need to cook the meat at all. The recipes I have on my website for weight gain are used with Raw meat. Is this where you received the information in regard to raw meat recipes?

Yes that's where I got the information. Although it does not state the size of slices go feed or if it's an addition to their normal diet or strictly just feeding slices.

I use Raw Meat as an addition and the portion provided is up to the owner. As a supplement with the your Bullies normal meal the Raw Meat recipes will be added food for the weight gain desired.

Sounds good thanks. One last question, today I made the recipe the ground beef contained best if used by or freeze by label 11/14/16 could I still use it after that date or do I have to freeze it?

Never play with beef... Salmonela poisoning can be disasterous... if it's not constantly frozen from the time you purchase it, or frozen within a day or two of your purchase, it must be consumed immediately its unfrozen.

If it were me, I'd certainly use it. I actually look for the sale on meats at the grocery store for the "browned" meat that's on sale due to age. A dog's digestive system is a lot different than ours. Raw meats have always been a part of a dog's diet and they didn't always check expiration dates when they found some meat to eat.


I've never had a Bull Terrier get sick from eating raw meat. I'm not saying it's impossible but the chances are a lot slimmer than one of us getting sick from eating meat. A stock up on venison that I provide my Bullies all year long. I'm sure had they have been marked with an expiration date by the grocery store they'd have been expired months ago. I keep meats frozen and they last a LONG time.

It's normal for dogs to develop some gas any time their diet has been changed. It isn't uncommon to notice loose stool as well. Allow some time for the digestive system to become used to the new foods.

They don't need to be thawed out. Your Bullie will happily gnaw on it frozen. Keep to your normal food intake and add one or two raw meat balls to his daily diet.
