For all our bully friends along the Florida coast, please take care and stay safe!! Thinking of you all. Watching the storm unfold from Northern Ontario. God speed.
Mathew smacked right down on us with winds over 70 mph and nonstop downpours of rain. We had flooding throughout our town. Our property is a mess and I lost a few shingles off the roof on my garage shop. I have a few tress way out back that fell and countless branches and debris everywhere. Two tornadoes kicked up, one which was only about 15 miles from us. We lost power Saturday night and it didn't go back on until late Sunday. We've been through hurricanes before over here and each one sure causes a big mess. But we are all safe and there was no serious damage. Bye Bye Mathew, you won't be missed.

Mathew...has left us without power since last Sat...no power expected until Sunday...we have trees down in our yard...lots of debris..two generaters going ..gas shortages along with other shortages...no bath now for 3 days...we live half mile from the Cape Fear River...it is rising by the hour due to all the rain. ...but we are all ok...compared to others we faired well...Happy to hear others are ok to....I agree with Steve...glad Mathew moved on
Sorry to hear that Hope. We must have gotten real lucky to have our power back after about 24 hours. The flooding must have messed things up in your area. I hope they get it fixed for you soon. I thought based on how far inland you were things wouldn't have been so bad since the wind speeds weren't as bad but that rain obviously caused problems in many areas.
I went for a ride out to the back of my property today in my UTV just to assess the damages with trees and big branches. I have three oak trees that need to be chain sawed due to them laying across a few of my trails in the woods. Our front pond completely overflowed. I don't recall ever seeing the water level that high and the water trailed across my path of fresh rock I just poured 5 weeks ago leaving a deep rut. Yep, I got my work cut out for me for a few days thanks to Mathew but I'll remain thankful while I'm cleaning up that we're all safe and no major damage occurred.
My fingers are crossed that your power goes on much sooner than Sunday. [-O< Stay well Hope.

Our Bullies didn't seem bothered by the storm at all. They still wanted to run around in the rain and high winds. I don't think I've had a time in which they weren't up for playing rain, shine, or even snow. What I don't enjoy is all the in and out they want to do when it's raining which causes me to have to constantly wipe their feet and clean up their mud trails in the house. ~X(
