To Crate Train or Not!
Hi...I am not fond of Crates or Restricted areas in my house My hustand and I are retIred so there is always someone home that will be with our future Bullie. Your thoughts on to or not to Crate Train him. Does everyone crate train their dog? The last Bullie I owned was never crate trained. He was a rehome at 6 months old when I got him. He was housebroken so that was not an issue. He never chewed anything but his toys also. He was never agressive or ever barked. I never heard him growl or bark. So with a new puppy coming should he be restricted. I don't want him to be but if it is advisable I will. Your thoughts would be welcomed. Thanks

To be honest I've never once had to "Crate Train." Bull Terriers seem to take to a crate naturally and enjoy it. If they are the proper size they prefer to use the bathroom in it even as young puppies. So as far as the "training" goes I don't think there's much effort involved in that.

Congrats on the new addition to your family and I commend you for having the heart to adopt.

Now he's 9 mnth and wants to sleep under kitchen table (it's hot - summer days), goes in his crate only for a treat. I have to lure him with treat when we're out of home (job).
Do you have any tips or suggestions?
