What is it like owning a male bull terrier

First off I want to say I have been a proud owner of 4 English Bull Terriers and love them all especially my personal bull terrier miss Louise, but sadly she has passed away a while back and now I feel like it's time for a new member of the family but after my family has own 3 females and me personally 1 female I want to try something different and so as the title says what is it like owning a male bull terrier? I know all bullys are different but what is there general mood are they more laid back, hyper, aggressive? Thank you in advance for taking this time to read my post.

  • I am new to Bullys and mine is a male (6 months), ive never had another bully but I have had female boxers so a bit different but i am more used to bitches.
Getting my first bully as a male i was worried about...
    aggression
    stubborness
    power
he has never been agressive at all to other dogs, he is stubborn at times but no more from what i have read about other bulls and i believe there is only a slight difference in power and size between sexes. I was also bit worried about aloofness as i was always under the impression that males are more independent than bitches but he is very loving etc.
ANY worries i have had he has more than dispelled them.
the only issues i have had have been skin and sex wouldnt have mattered

The male Bull Terriers on average have a tendency to be more active and mischievous especially in their adolescent stages. Obviously each Bull Terrier is different and bloodlines makes a difference especially when comparing a Bull Terrier that is more of a "Terrier" type than "Bull" type.

I have males and females and to be honest they share the many of the same characteristics making it too difficult for me to say there is a big difference between a male and female. I have females which are extremely active to completely laid back.

To me, I find more of a difference in personally, temperament, and character through bloodlines than I do comparing a male to a female.

Don't get me wrong, we have had 3 (Bullie) girls, and I have loved them all with a passion... But Boys are my best. Yes they are a little more boisterous, a little less willing to learn and listen... but are better than girls in the sense that (to me) they are a lot less "skittish" and excitable... tend to bark less or "go off" when other creatures are around... but all these factors are marginal, not very marked differences. Boys obviously don't have the "female" problems, anal sack problems of girls, and I have never had an "overely-randy" boy that wants to hump everything.  I still find them deeply emotional and they will express their emotions and love very strongly. Girls have as much, maybe more "love" in them and you sense it more than see it.... Hey! I just realized ! Boy Bullies are (slightly)better than girl Bullies just as they are in the human version!... Perhaps I am prejudiced????

    :)) :)) ;))
In the beginning God created English Bull Terriers, in the image of EBT's, God created all other breeds.
