Dino Bull Terriers ~ Caution Bad Breeder!

Rarely will you hear me speak poorly about another breeder but when there's just cause due to their corruption, character, integrity, or breeding ethics I'd rather prevent people from making the mistake in dealing with a breeder of this caliber than turn a blind eye to it.
Over the years I've gotten used to receiving calls from other breeders posing as some caring person looking to purchase a puppy from us. The quickest way to identify another breeder is their quick focus of attention on whether or not they will be receiving "Full Registration" on a future puppy they are interested in.
The other day I received a phone call by someone with the same tactics of explaining they are wanting a Bull Terrier puppy to add to their family. After a short while on the phone she was explaining that she had contacted a few other breeders but they were not willing to sell her a puppy with Full Registration solely in her name only. I explained to her that NO responsible breeder is going to do that. However, they have the option of receiving a puppy with Limited Registration or with Full Registration which would be as a co-owner after a co-ownership contract was initiated. She immediately got confrontational explaining that she did NOT want any sort of co-ownership on the puppy and would only purchase a puppy with Full Registration without co-ownership. I told her she was contacting the wrong breeder because there was no way I would put the reputation of my bloodlines on the line by selling a puppy in which the owner could breed to any quality Bull Terrier they chose as well as breed the puppy during every heat cycle until it died. Responsible breeders just don't allow those things to happen and they surely don;t wish to see one of their puppy's go to some unethical backyard breeder or puppy mill. I told her that I was now having the strong feeling her pursuit was for a future breeder vice loyal family companion. She ended up getting very upset that I would not sell her puppy and told me she'd find another breeder and that she did in fact wish to breed.
I didn't think too much about the phone call because I get phone calls similar to that fairly often from others looking to purchase a puppy free from co-ownership and with Full Registration. However, today I received a text message from her basically telling me off for not providing her a future puppy with Full Registration. I was shocked this young lady was still bitter and couldn't figure out why she was so upset so I decided to look up her phone number to see who the heck she was. Immediately I noticed the same number showing up on a Bull Terrier breeders website and several puppy advertisement websites. Sure as day my initial thoughts were correct because she was in fact a new backyard breeder trying her best to fool other breeders into providing her with a puppy she could use inappropriately in hopes of improving her bloodlines. Once I mentioned her kennel name in our text message conversation she knew her game was up. I ended up blocking her to stop the nasty messages from coming in.
I looked at her website and was saddened to see the poor quality of what she is breeding. The pedigrees she posts clearly show all dogs are coming from non-reputable breeders like herself with no bloodline affiliation.
My intent of this message is just to get her name out so other breeders are aware of her lack of integrity, bad character, and poor quality Bull Terriers she's producing. It's very disappointing to see more and more of these type breeders popping up that lack the knowledge, passion, and pride to breed with responsibility and proper ethics.
I encourage others to steer clear of Dino Bull Terriers located in Albuquerque, New Mexico

Due to unwarranted slander from affiliates from Dino Bull Terriers I am compiling records for legal action against them. Recently they have been desperately making attempts to slander our reputation due to our decision not to provide them with one of our puppies. Josh Stevens is an affiliated breeder of Dino Bull Terriers who has made a few attempts to join this Forum as well as conduct unwarranted slander online. Just like the phony story that Kayla presented me in her pursuit to purchase a puppy from us they are also using phony names and emails in an attempt to conduct unwarranted slander. They are in for a big surprise.
It's literally amazing how some BYB's will get so upset when they are prevented from owning a reputable Bull Terrier and having the false illusion that they should be provided Full Registration in order to freely corrupt the bloodline with that of lesser quality Bull Terriers for the mere sake of selling puppies through their Puppy Mill.
The truth is that most all breeders (including us) welcome FULL Registration for both breeding and showing. However, we do it with Co-ownership so we can ensure proper future breeding's and breeding practices are conducted appropriately with the intent to compliment the future offspring produced vice the opposite. People with true appreciation and valued interest in the future of the breed as well as the quality of puppies they plan on producing are always on board with the aspect of co-ownership knowing they will surely be allowed to breed and show if they are doing so with proper intent. However, for the ill minded BYB's and Puppymills they are well aware that their breeding practices are shunned for good reason and will not be tolerated which obviously prevents them from irresponsible breeding and corrupting bloodlines that have earned a reputation for excellence.

And kudos to you, Steve. Thanks for standing up for our future.
I received an email yesterday from the owner of Bull Terrier who explained how upset they are that Dino Bull Terriers has taken a photo of their Bullie and put it on their website as if the dog belongs to them or their bloodlines.
Here's the photo they are posting on their website along with the original photos of Stephanie's Bull Terrier located in Virginia.
Shameful that some breeders will steal photos from other people and exploit them on their website as to create a false illusion of the Bull Terriers they produce.
Anyhow, I was asked by the owner of this Bull Terrier to include this information on this post because she is not a member.

Hello Steve,
I saw that you made a post the other day about DINO bull terriers. My sister and I just discovered that they are using a photo of one of our show bitches as their own under " bloodlines". I am really glad other people have reached out to them telling how awful they are. I was wondering if you could share my story on your wall via the Strictly Bull Terriers forum.
Thanks Stephanie

Seems there are many people posting about them putting copyright photos on their website as if they are their Bull Terriers when in fact they aren't and have no permission to use the photos.
I'm confident they will make appropriate adjustments to the unwarranted slander they did towards us as well as copyright infringement to others before legal action is taken against them.

It's difficult for people that truly love the breed and have knowledge of breeders of this caliber that have no concern about the future integrity of the breed or the well being of the puppies they blindly sell with Full Registration to any person who wishes to carry on the same backyard breeding venture that compromises the health and quality of tomorrows Bull Terriers.

I am not surprised at all about any of these comments & post. It is a disturbing issue here.
My actual neighborhood is horrible. Pets get "dropped off/abandoned" here because the shelter cannot patrol here... They would hit 2 to 3 streets and over-fill the whole shelter in a day. They only come out when called.
I have called on my neighbors for getting dogs, tying them up, & starving them to death. I mean skin & bones, ribs showing, eye sunk in, fur falling out... Horrible. They get fine after fine, and maybe the dog will get taken away if in poor enough health or they get reported too often in a short amount of time.
Frankly I think people need to take a test before being allowed to have a pet. Especially in my area.
I hope enough reports will shut down this lady running Dino Bull Terriers, maybe she will get arrested for abuse or something.
So word to the wise, don't buy any pet from New Mexico without a TON of research on the breeder. Years ago I was looking for a Pomeranian, didn't want/need papers but wanted to know everything to be sure of health, just wanted a happy pom for my family like when I grew up (I grew up in Mississippi not here) & I NEVER found anyone who could be trusted. It is not worth it when you have a dead pup from parvo, or bad health that cost $$$$ for the pet's whole life. Watching a pet suffer isn't worth these breeders receiving money to keep doing it. =(
@helloimkayla - I'm sorry you had to go through this with her. Unfortunately many others have too and I'm sure there will be more to come. That's Kayla for you. She will go out of her way to slander you when a truthful statement and warning has been made about her or her backyard breeding atrocity - Dino Bull Terriers. On a good note, 90% of those involved in the Bull Terrier community are well of aware of Kayla (Dino Bull Terriers) and the horrible reputation they have. She relies heavily on selling puppies to first time Bull Terrier owners who know nothing about the breed and what to look for in a quality Bull Terrier or responsible breeder. I find it amazing how much they are asking for their puppies. Then again there are people all over the world ripping people off of all sorts of things if they think they can get away with it.
Anyhow, rejoice that things turned out the way they did.

When someone posts a complaint she's quick to call and tell the BBB that they were never a true customer in order to have the complaint removed. I think she'd rather tell her puppy owners to ensure and write a positive review on BBB, as if it's something that makes her look legit. She's in desperation trying to get positive reviews based on the plethora of complaints currently being spoken about on social media.
Who the heck would use the Better Business Bureau to gain confidence in a the reputation, professionalism, and moral ethics of a Dog Breeder? )

I want to add my experience to this section because I actually own a bull terrier from Dino Bull Terriers. Let me start by saying that he was a birthday/Christmas gift from my SO and that I adamantly did not want to go with Dino Bull Terriers after my initial communications with Kayla. My SO didn't agree with my intuition about her and purchased a pup after Kayla offered him for $1000 instead of her normal $3500. And as much as I love him as a family pet, there are some crucial reasons nobody should ever buy dogs from Dino Bull Terriers. The following does not make me love my boy any less, but facts are facts - he has defects, she treats her dogs like trash, and she's a horrible human.
My dog is no where near meeting the bull terrier standard and has serious defects, including missing pre-molars and an overbite. Those alone make him non-breeding stock. This is important because I requested photos of the teeth of the parents after this, and his father is also missing pre-molars. She bred this serious genetic defect knowing that the puppies are very likely to inherit it, making showing impossible. She doesn't care about the standard at all.
His physical qualities don't meet the standard, either. His eyes are too rounded, and the missing pre-molars cause an indentation in the cheeks that take away that rounded, egg shape. This is pretty major when someone is asking $3500 for a pup.
I didn't see the facility or meet any of the pups or parents in person, which I will never, ever do again. When my boy arrived at the airport after a 3 hour flight, he was covered in feces and urine, as was his travel crate. WAY more than what would be present after such a short flight. WAY more than even an entire day. He was clearly in there for more than a day! The stench was embedded in his fur and skin, clearly indicating that he lived in his own filth. Several days after his first ever bath, he developed a skin rash and flaking afterwards from the filth. Fortunately, fish oil and a good diet cleared it up within a month and he has gorgeous, glossy fur and normal skin now
She DOES NOT care about these puppies. I can't stress that enough. They are just dollar signs to her, which is clear after seeing the condition my boy was in when he arrived. I can imagine how she uses up the adults and discards them, too. It's very sad to think about.
My boy was 4 months old when I received him. He hadn't even been weened from his mother and was constantly suckling on myself and my older female bull terrier. 4 MONTHS OLD. She clearly spends no time nurturing or socializing the pups. I suspect they are simply left to their own devices, maybe even left in crates, living in their own filth. And that's heartbreaking. My boy lost his mind when he got a blanket on his first night home. I know dog behavior, and that was a dog who had never experienced a blanket or a dog bed before. I am a firm believer that non-working pups like bull terriers need to be reared inside with the family, even if they are for sale. It can mean the difference between a maniac dog that freaks out over every tiny thing OR a calmer, adaptable dog that's not prone to anxiety.
Kayla was ridiculous in her expectations, which was enough for me personally to move on. The photos on her site of the pups were distant and blurry. You couldn't even see the full markings of the pups, let alone the physique or closeups of the head, eyes, ears, teeth, feet, and body. I asked for closer photos of the one we were interested in and she said that she would only send more photos after we paid her. She seriously expected us to pay her $3500 up front without so much as a single clear photo of the pup. She also was vague and dismissive about health questions about the parents regarding kidney, heart, skin, and eyes. After this I crossed her off the list of people to consider, and this was before she lowered her price.
Just a reminder, the decision to get our pup from Dino was not mine. I actually wanted to take this beautiful 5 yr old retired champion from a local breeder, but my SO just fell in love with the boy we got. But I didn't get my way. However, I assumed that even though Kayla was ridiculous, entitled, demanding, and rude that the pup would at the VERY LEAST meet the standard or very close to it. I never anticipated the dental problems (which were costly at the vet, btw), and the horrible way he was reared. Had I known she treats her pups so poorly, I would have put my foot down and said no way are we contributing to that.
TLDR: My pup has serious and expensive dental issues, and does not meet the standard. Kayla treats her dogs and pups like trash, as well as any potential customer, and likely is nothing more than a retched puppy mill owner.
We learned the hard way, so please always do your homework (extensive homework), trust your instincts, don't ignore red flags, and don't rush to any unknown breeder just because the price is good and pup is cute. Backyard breeders and puppy mills will destroy the bull terrier breed. Please don't keep them in business by purchasing their dogs
That's very sad to hear. I wish you had researched her reputation prior to purchasing a puppy from her. I have spoken to several people that have purchased a puppy from her and were very disappointed. Most people are timid to publicly expose the breeder but I think doing so will help prevent others from making the same mistake.
Thanks for sharing your experience and allowing others to read your thorough review and experience with Dino Bull Terriers.
