For what it's worth... I know that all Bullies are different... But this mix is working just fabulously for our pups....
    Twice a day.
1 cup of kibble... (65% taste of the wild puppy... Venison & Wild Salmon.. 35% Royal Canine large puppy)
    1/2 cup boiled white rice
1/2 cup boiled white chicken breast
1/4 cup raw ..beef & duck ( pellets)... [We intend to increase the raw and decrease the cooked chicken as time goes on.]
1/2 tin of Merrick Puppy Plate wet food.
40 seconds in the microwave to take out the chill ( as mostly refrigerated or frozen)
Add raw meat after heating plus 1 pump of Grizzly Salmon oil.

Watch it disappear in less than 90 seconds.

They have been adding about 10 lbs a month, no green gas, ( virtually ) all turds perfect enough to send back to sausage factory.

Sounds like a lot of work, not really...

Oscar is elergic to grains, so I mix ground beef, potatoes, carrots, broccoli and mix it with half a bowl of taste of the wild lamb grain free.. He likes it , but I think I need to stop spoiling him, he tends to get picky now after I've been slaving over the stove cooking it up.

All the above is grain free... Except the rice obviously... But we had our last sweetheart on a diet with rice in it and we found it helped with skin allergies ( she was white and in FL, the heat and insecticide and all)... I know how you feel about the hot stove... Sometimes we think their meals take more time ( and MONEY!) than ours.

  • my dogs can eat anything without any problems, i've fed everything from raw to junk dog kibble to some of the most expensive kibble money can buy. I just feed a nice middle line.

  • What about wet food guys? I think I need to add some wet food to Selah's diet. What does everybody use?

We use Puppy Plate by Merrick... It's grain free and full of good stuff. We used to add about 2/3 can to their food ( for 2 ) but then they began, over time, to find it too mushy... So know we just use 1/3....

  • Trent, how do you like the victors brand? We are thinking of feeding stoeger that and then gradually transfer to a raw food diet.

Now its 4 months later and we're shifted their diet somewhat, so, for what it's worth... This is what we find works best currently.
    Twice a day.
1 cup of kibble... (65% taste of the wild puppy... Venison & Wild Salmon.. 35% Royal Canine large puppy)
1/2 cup boiled white chicken breast
1/2 cup raw ..beef & duck ( pellets)...
1/4 tin of Merrick Puppy Plate wet food.
( Note: with the raw and the canned we found that their food was too mushy and they didn't like sticking their nose in mush to get at the tasty bits... So now we moisten their food minimally)
40 seconds in the microwave to take out the chill ( as mostly refrigerated or frozen)
Add raw meat after heating plus 1 pump of Grizzly Salmon oil.

Watch it disappear in less than 90 seconds.

We've also be adding boiled chicken livers occasionally and eggs ( scrambled) once or twice a week.

Sounds like a lot of work, not really...

  • Hey Phil, chicken livers, do you feed them raw?
  • philsergeantphilsergeant Palm City, Florida, USA
No, we cook them.... I always worry about uncooked organs, probably unnecessarily ... We probably destroying 30% of the nutrients by cooking. Heck, I eat caviar.

  • Thanks for the info. Stoges_mom and I are compiling as much info as we can to formulate a feeding strategy for little Stoeger.
