Dental Surgery

Hi everyone! I am new to this message board. My name is Jennifer, and I have a beautiful deaf bull Terrier named Cupcake. Here is here story:
I used to work with this girl. One day we were talking about Bull Terriers and she goes, Oh! I have one! I told her that is amazing! She goes, oh no we do not like her and she is dumb. I straight up told her if she did not want her, I would be more then happy to take her. 2 weeks later she was mine! She told us that she was about 7 to 10 years old, and that her previous owner just left her with them and that was 3 years ago.  I took her to the vet to get shots and her nails trimmed. Not only were her nails extremely long, her teeth were completely black.  The vet told us that we can do the surgery and you can make payments and that is what we did. I finally came up with the down payment and  I am coming to you guys for help! Any donations would be greatly appreciated! Or if you have any ideas on how to get donations that would be fantastic!  Thank you for taking the time to read this, and have a blessed day

    Good luck with your Bull Terrier. One of the things that comes along with raising any dog is the medical expenses necessary to keep them healthy and happy. This is the sole responsibility of all of us and truly something that doesn't warrant solicitation of donations for financial support.

    I wish I had a dollar for ever "GoFundMe" advertisement I have seen on social network with so many people asking for donations. Sadly many of them are bogus adds with heart wrenching stories of a dog in need. Most often no Vet records are provided and no other validated documentation, just the story and the link to where you can send money. This has become very popular.

    On a happy note, if your Bullie is in need of a good tooth scrubbing you'll be happy to know it's actually a very inexpensive procedure that most all Vets conduct. Some people that show their dogs have it done up to twice a year.

    Just as a test I tried to send you an email from the email address you used to sign into this Forum. here's the result:

    With this said it's quickly starting to look as if your post is a little fishy.

    Please post some photos of your bull terrier as well as those teeth that need cleaning (or surgery?).

  • My email was wrong, and I did not realize it. My actual email address is jmrogers89@yahoo.com. The "r" and "o" were reversed. This was a simple mistake.
    As far as Cupcake goes she was rescued a little shy of a year ago (from owners who were going to take her to the pound) and I have been slowly getting her taken care of when suddenly she got an abscess tooth and had to go in for emergency surgery (20 teeth in all were extracted). The Vet said she would allow me to make payments, but also suggested a "Go Fund Me" and to reach out to other groups so that's what I did. Help or not, I'm just for the greater good of ALL animals.

  • Here is the vet bill and her teeth. In this picture you can see what teeth number was extracted and the vet names are covered up for privacy.

    Why am I not seeing any images here??? Everyone else see them??? No problem with images on other threads.
    In the beginning God created English Bull Terriers, in the image of EBT's, God created all other breeds.
  • I did upload them, but it was from my phone. That maybe why it didn't work. Please be patient and I will use my computer later today.

    @Phil
    The photos are extremely large (> 5 MB each). Maybe the forum has problems to automatically generate preview thumbnails from that. Just hover over the space where the thumbnails usually are located in a post (lower left corner). Then you'll see something popping up to click on.
    Or just click on those tiiiiiiiiiny rectangles you see instead of thumbnails.

    Allow your browser a moment to load the images.

    @SSaturn
    Those teeth look like that dog must have been in some awful pain.
    It's a good idea to make as much information about this case public as possible.
    Many people just have a hard time to just trust in calls for supportive funding.
    Because sadly what Steve writes is true and adding to all of the many REAL cases out there, reaching out for help.

    Thank you for having the heart and taking care of that poor thing!

    @SSaturn - I commend you for taking in a rescue Bull Terrier and trying to provide her with the medical attention she deserves. You must have removed the attachments you posted earlier because I do not have any option to click on anything to view. @Djammy is correct though, photos larger than 5 mb will cause problems uploading to Forums. You'd have to reduce the size of the photos if you wished to attach them in a post.

    Exactly how much did your Vet quote you for the work needed to her teeth?

  • What a sad story for that poor beautiful bully :( I think it's awesome you are trying to improve Cupcakes health. I would love to say that I could contribute to get your baby back to good health and pain free. However, we also just had to have 20 (is this the magic number?!) teeth pulled from our little chihuahua/mix a few months ago and it has left us financially tapped as well! The $ put out is well worth it though, our little guy is a completely different dog since his surgery! I'm sorry I cannot be of help but I am sure sending you thoughts and prayers.
  • Thank you erikashea! Prayers go a long way and i Greatly appreciate it! I've got a chihua mix( mia) 12lb ish and purebred Chihuahua (bronson) 6lbs and they get a long great with cupcake!. image

    Amazing how her teeth got so messed up when she doesn't appear all that old. I'd have guessed she was about 5 or 6 years old based off your last photo. She must have had a couple abscessed teeth and others got infected. I'm shocked the infection didn't spread into her bloodstream and kill her. I can only imagine how much pain she experienced with as bad of shape her teeth were in.
    She must be in pure heaven no that she had her teeth taken care of. She had a lot more than deep cleaning conducted. Several teeth extracted which were infected. Sad seeing any dog with neglected teeth like that. But it's great knowing she's in good hands now and well cared for.

  • You know, I would like to say she is 5-6. but we really do not know. When the previous owner had her she was around 7. They had her for 3 years. Then I got her. She doesnt have much gray around her eyes. but who knows, i just hope this will extend her life 3+. The girl that surrendered cupcake to me, told me that the people that origianlly had her, had them watch her and they never came back to pick her up.   ugh, so sad. Anyways.
    Thanks for all the prayers everyone! Cupcake and I really appreciate it!
