Your dog's favorite treats
So what do your dogs love? Working on training Icarus and hoping to get more ideas from y'all. So far he likes cheese and chicken hotdogs (no surprise there). He will chew green beans and spit them out, but he does like cheerios. I've got some apples too that I'm going to try this week.

Also I NEVER feed grapes, because they can cause kidney failure in dogs!
Also cooked plain turkey or chicken breast or dried plain meat (jerky) cut into tiny pieces do a great job during training, as well as tiny pieces of low fat cheese (if the dog tolerates dairy products).
In the past I have also used these training treats (Grain-free and made in the US):

These are pretty good, very small and good quality, and Djamila liked them. I only stopped using them, because they contain a lot of sugar. I am now using more veggies and my own homemade treats to have more control over ingredients and especially the sugar content.
Since I started making my homemade carrot-coconut mini cookies, Djamila is not interested in many of the processed/manufactured treats any longer.
Here are my recipes, just in case you're interested:

Jerky (it's a little less expensive to make it yourself, but you'll need a dehydrator)

Our dog actually gets a lot of treats during the day - we do a lot of training - but we always watch her overall food intake, taking treats into account. I always subtract the calorie amount of treats I give from the daily food amount.
