Help! My 8 month old throws tantrums and attacks me on walks!

Hi there, my 8 month old, Tuna has been throwing epic temper tantrums and attacking my boyfriend and I while out on walks. It seems to be when he's either too tired or too hot, but who knows. Has any one else had to deal with this? I had him on a training collar and he was doing great for a long time on it but now it seems like when he sees something he's interested in, he tries to run for it, chokes himself, and then has a violent reaction in response. I usually try to grab him and wrap my arms around him in a super tight bear hug for a good chunk of time until he calms down, but usually once it gets to that point he will keep throwing fits every 10 to 20 minutes. I just switched him back to a harness to no avail. I just want to be able to take him out for walks whenever without him having these hyper-aggressive meltdowns! He also occasionally throws these fits when in large open areas like our yard. Has anyone else had to deal with this type of behavior? I'm searching for a solution.

Thanks, Sara :)

Obviously something about the trips is causing her great anxiety and she doesn't know how to handle it and is reacting badly.  I know that some Bullies (other dogs I am sure, but then what do I know) have adverse reactions to noise/ traffic/ loud dogs/.... Are any of those involved in your journey.  The heat can be a big factor. Mine let you know they are totally pissed if it's too hot outdoors, they never get aggressive, just stubbon and are completely happy taking any walk after sunset.
In the beginning God created English Bull Terriers, in the image of EBT's, God created all other breeds.
