Bullie in need!!!!

I have several rescue sites on my facebook feed. I came across one this weekend that dropped me to my knees. An EBT had been tied to a tree and neglected. Aprox 2-3years and weighed only 23lb. I hesitate to post the pic as it is very upsetting. The baby is in a shelter in Nebraska. I live in Washington State which is not even close. They are asking for donations and eventualy a home. If anyone can help or is interested let me know. Im not sure who to check with in regards to if I should post the pic on here or not!

Please post as much information as you have and I am sure the members will do all they can to help... Unfortunately we already know that humans are far inferior to Bullies.

The images from his being seized on Sept 2nd are very upsetting.  In case someone would like to help but not see the pictures, here is the direct link to help Hubble:
    https://www.youcaring.com/nmdog-hubble-428783

It is probably hardest for bull terrier parents to see these because we're used to a BT face full of expression, intelligence, and happiness.  Those are currently missing from this angel.  If you'd like to read more, here is the link with more information:

  • UGH it's 3:30 am and I shouldn't have read that!!!!  :((

I'm following the Facebook page now to see the outcome. I don't think Hubble with have any trouble finding people that love him now. I sincerely hope he makes it through this ordeal. And the Bull Terrier community is truly amazing...

It angers me beyond words when I see a dog in this condition especially a Bull Terrier.

Bull Terriers are so damn loyal and lovable. Who could possibly do this to a breed that wants nothing more than to please their owner. Neglect of this nature should be automatic jail sentence. Even in jail people are not treated any where near what this poor Bullie went through.

Las Vegas, huh? I can only imagine where this BT came from. However, I have a good idea.

I pray this BT lives the rest of his life in a home where he will be cherished and loved.  [-O<

  • OMG........I wish I hadn't read or seen that either!!!  Thats absolutely appalling!!!  That person that did that to Hubble should be put in an isolated jail cell and treated the same way he treated that poor dog.  Very disturbing!!! :((
  • Im sorry about the pics, I just wanted to get the word out to our community. I to am following him on facebook and due to some amazing angels his skin is becoming pink again and pulling thru.
  • Excellent news!!  Hope that dog gets the best home Ever!!!
  • I also started following them on Facebook...I look for his updates everyday and hope for the best... I would love to participate in helping animals like Hubble but I'm afraid I'd embarrass myself being a blubbering fool...
  • Im with ya, everytime I think about what those furbabies have gone thru I just want to cry

More than I want to cry I want to slice the testicles off of whoever treated them like that to begin with!

  • Thats sooooo SAD!!! :(  What a heartbreaker.  I hope Hubble had some happiness before his life ended.
  • Hubble's support was awesome...and I'm sad that he didn't make it not only because he is a cute innocent bull terrier, but because this was an honest rescue doing everything in their power to show him love, affection, and to get him healed. I can't imagine how the rescue is feeling...

They have reported that one of the offenders is in custody now, and already had a felony animal cruelty charge on their record...makes me mad to know this person got their hands on a dog after that!! X(

If there is any way to get our appreciation, sympathies, admiration and respect to Hubbles' Adopted parents I would like us all to do so... I am sure they did everything in their power to revive him.

If there is any way to have the offender that is reportedly being charged hung by his/ her? testicles in the town square until the suffer they same fate as dear Hubble, I would be firmly behind such effort.

I couldn't go back to check, it was too horrifying and...gutting, really.  Reading the initial reports, I have to think that the rescuers held him constantly and if there was ever a pup that felt loved, it was Hubble in his final days.  To pass peacefully in the arms of someone that loves us, that is a gift.  I know I'm talking about days of love compared to the rest of his life abused, but at least he felt loved and rescued before the tragic end of his life.  They told Hubble that they understood if he needed to go and they'd be there with him.  Hubble feels no more pain, no more medical procedures, no more sadness or anxiety, just peace.  The rescuers that gave him every chance possible have to be devastated.  My thoughts are with them, and would wager that all of us are crying along with them.
  • The recent pic I posted is a female bullie they found walking and the 2 dogs in the background are her pups
  • The people that rescued Hubble from his chain are an organization called NMDOG, and they were working with a vet clinic to get Hubble treated. They released more information about Hubble, saying his original owners kept him on a chain in their backyard for nearly 7 years with another female, and they had unsupervised breedings and escaped several times. One day, they escaped, and the female returned but Hubble didn't. Hubble was being held hostage at a house not far from his "grandmother's" home, probably where he had intended to go. Hubble was starved in horrific conditions for about 18 months, and while it's nice to know that for that majority of his life he was "cared for" I don't consider being tied up in a backyard a loving home. I don't think that Hubble's original owners should receive any kind of solace or condolences because they are partially to blame for his destruction. NMDOG should receive 100% of the kudos. They are located in New Mexico and have a Facebook page if anyone is interested in reaching out.

  • @Quinnofhearts Maybe it's the common issue of tone missing in written words, but it seems like you're upset that someone was giving someone other than the rescuers credit...the rescuers that got him when he was within an inch of his life.  Speaking for myself, I thought it was clear that I was expressing gratitude that Hubble had at least a few days of love, being in loving arms when he passed, the loving arms of the rescuers.  Those are the people that my heart goes out to, not anyone that was involved in Hubble's life up until he was rescued days before his passing.  As a matter of fact, I posted the links for people to donate and follow the progress when there was at least a glimmer of hope that he might live.  I don't see where anyone is giving any solace or condolences to the original owners, only the rescuers.

Who exactly are you addressing?  Is it my comment, which clearly says that I'm clarifying that the only loving and respect that I saw was the days before his death?  My comment is that it was days of love (with rescuers) versus a life of abuse and neglect (previous owners prior to rescue).

"I know I'm talking about days of love compared to the rest of his life
abused, but at least he felt loved and rescued before the tragic end of
    his life."

I do think it was wonderful that he felt love prior to his passing, in the arms of the kind rescuers.  Still trying to figure out what you're referring to with quotation marks of "cared for" and anyone in any possible way stating that they thought it was nice that he was tied up.  Bizarre and inappropriate.

  • edited October 2015
I don't think anything I said was inappropriate. Misunderstood maybe, but not inappropriate.

I wasn't referring to you. Phil brought up his adopted parents, and I felt it was important for anyone following Hubble's story to know that he once had parents who didn't take care of him and then he was picked up by NMDog. The "cared for" wasn't referring to any of you all because...well, none of you said those words. "Cared for" was because the original owners of Hubble believed that they were being good owners, keeping him chained up and getting him a friend as if that would make his life better, and then allowing unsupervised breedings and allowing them to escape without any efforts to secure their yard. Everyone should know exactly what Hubble's original owners did and I don't want anyone to feel an ounce of pity for them, just as we shouldn't feel any sort of pity for Hubble's abusers.

If I thought that any of you thought it was nice that Hubble was tied up, I would address you. I didn't. I'm sorry that there was a miscommunication.
  • Thank you, @Quinnofhearts and at the same time, I'm sorry that I pushed you into an explanation.  It all makes sense now, and it's all true, all of the way around.  It was misunderstood on my part, and I apologize.  I know everyone here has been disgusted by the actions of everyone involved in Hubble's life up to the point he was rescued.  The caring and loving on the part of the rescuers and donors to his care speak to the best in our society, so I was confused and thought your upset was because of me.  I certainly wouldn't ever have an ounce of mercy or pity for those that did this to Hubble.
  • @exiled - if there's one thing I can talk about all day it's my dog and bull terriers. Not a lot of pushing needed! :-B

Hubble's story made me very upset, as I think it did for many owners. I think those of us with Bull Terriers understand how amazing and loving they are. And on top of that, seeing the photo of Hubble before he was sick was devastating...he was so handsome and imagining the amount of starvation and pain he had to go through to be reduced to that... I feel my dog and couldn't even fathom her at that size. And I guess it's because of how special she is to me that I feel so much for other Bull Terriers, and especially Hubble. So ultimately I think sometimes in these threads we can get hypersensitive no matter the subject. I know that most people here would never treat their dogs the way Hubble was treated at any point in his life...and would be happy to dish all of them their punishment in the name of Hubble and the other chained dogs.
  • Well said Quinnofhearts!!!  It brings tears to my eyes just reading all about Hubble, never mind seeing that picture. :((

  • Why so many in the Florida area?
  • edited October 2015
It could be that they have an amazing rescue organization in Florida, but I don't know for sure.  Sometimes strong and well-funded shelters will "pull" dogs out of "kill" shelters that they think would have a good chance of being adopted, or if they have the room and funds to do so.  Again, I don't know for sure about Florida specifically, but I know there are some cities that seem to have lots of rescues, but it's because they rescue a lot of dogs from all over the country, not only their city.
  • BulliesofNCBulliesofNC Richlands, NC
I think it has a lot more to do with the volume of backyard breeders who are not willing to take back a dog produced by them in the event the original owner can no longer care for the dog or has lost interest in raising the dog. The fact is, if these Bull Terriers were sold as puppies with a contract that stipulated that the puppy be returned to them in the event rehoming was required none of these Bull Terriers would be where they are now. If the original owners knew they could make a phone call to their breeder if they needed to render their dog they surely would have done so. Wouldn't it make sense to simply pass a law that mandated all breeders to take back any dog they produced and if they were found to be not in compliance they would be banned from registering all future litters and possibly fined? These fines could then be used to help support shelters that dedicate to rescue, fostering, and adoption.

  • philsergeantphilsergeant Palm City, Florida, USA
Just says "young" I'd guess between two and three from her looks... description reads "image
        Beautiful
girl who loves to snuggle and chase tennis balls. Great with people,
has been around children without issues. House, crate and leash
trained. Does NOT play well with other dogs or cats."

But "she" is also described as male, so I am checking to see whether it's Bruce Jenner.
She could be trained to socialize with other dogs I am sure... I wouldn't try the cat thing though.
