Pinnacle

I'm picking up my new 8 week old puppy tomorrow. I decided to start feeding him PINNACLE salmon and sweet potato. It has no fake garbage in it and got great reviews for being a healthy grain free food. Do you all think this was a good choice?

Hi! And great to have you here. I wish that I was excited as you will be when you get your new bundle of treasure tomorrow... But that thrill happens only a few times in life.  Is this your first Bullie?  You have to promise to post photos and stories otherwise we turn into real Bully's here   ;))
I can't say I know anything about Pinnacle GF, but apparently it's a 4 Star food and GF is important. If it were me I'd start with the Turkey and Potato... You rarely hear of a Bullie allergic to Turkey but often hear of them having an issue with fish... So maybe a better place to start.  Also (you say Sweet Potato, but I read that the salmon comes with potato)..Sweet potato can have a bit of added sugar content and yeast loves  sugar... so, until you understand your new love's yeast tolerance, I'd avoid all "sweet". We are dying to hear how the first few days go in Booorrsten ! (That's how you pronounce it right?)  Who is your breeder?

@stephbeau444   Oh Shit, you're in trouble... He's a mustard dog.

  • He's soooooooooooo cute!!! I honestly know nothing about Pinnacle... But I can say that my dog is one of those dogs that didn't handle fish well! And I actually used to give her ground turkey and noodles (instead of chicken and rice) when she got sick, so I'm also an advocate of turkey as well.

I'd say stick to 4 and 5 star GRAIN FREE puppy foods. Let him get settled and you can go from there.
  • I have fed my dogs pinnacle for years. It was recommended to me by a breeder and show person. One of my labs was having skin issues so we switched her and it cleared up. Very good food!
