Treats!

When my kids last saw Rodney, they were constantly commenting on how different his coat is.  When we got him, it was a Feb. and he had been in NC, so he had a beautiful, thick coat from the snow and cold weather.  After acclimating to New Orleans heat and humidity, his coat has been thinner, but still beautiful since he eats Orijen Regional Red, Grizzly Oil, 96 percent meat Merricks canned (a couple of spoonfuls with his kibble), Braggs ACV with Mother, organic pumpkin, NuVet Plus, and always Orijen grain-free treats or other top quality grain-free treats like dried buffalo, bully sticks, marrow bones, lamb organs, etc.

Well, I couldn't figure out why his coat is like he is living in the coldest part of Siberia, the Arctic tundra, or somewhere too cold for mammals.  His coat really shouldn't be this thick with the temperature and humidity of a New Orleans summer.  Then, I realized the time-frame is about the time he started getting these Plato salmon treats.  He got the Natural Salmon and Vegetables in a BarkBox, and those seemed like great quality, so I bought bigger bags of that and Salmon Strips.

I've tried the Orijen Six Fish, but it didn't agree with him.  These strips have been a great way to get even more of the nutrients from salmon, on top of the Grizzly Oil.  It has that look when it's just shampooed that it glistens in the light, it's thick with no thinning anywhere, not much shedding...it's perfect.  I don't know if it's the strips or not, but I only give him one a day as a treat, sometimes two.  The smell of these, though, wow, it's rather strong.
