Trayler and New Pup
As some may remember my niece and her husband fostered then
adopted Trayler because my wife’s female Pom didn’t get along with him. At a year and a half, he turned out to be a
strapping Bully.
Giving him up left a void in my heart so I decided “down
size” and searched for a mini BT. Yes I know it’s not an EBT but had to settle
for a happy medium with the household.
I read many ads but buying “sight unseen” wasn’t going to work for me
but I was fortunate enough to find a breeder just 3hr away. Long story short, I viewed and bought him.
Here’s his pic beside a ketchup bottle for size comparison.
Here’s him the next morning doing “hand stand” while eating
his breakfast.

As mentioned, “Niner” his given name, isn’t an EBT but I’ll
still visit this site and occasionally post his progress.
Thanks for allowing me to share our new family addition.

P.S. Traylor still looks like he should be on the cover of GQ or Hollywood Men, or sumpin'... specially with the mucho shirt!

I decided to change Niner’s name because the wife and I were
mistakenly calling him Trayler LOL.
Being that he has the eye patch, I changed it to “Raider”.
well. Our 16-1/2 year old male Pom
ignores him but the 4 yr old female still hasn’t warmed up to him yet but will
eventually. She’s been growling at him
every time he gets near but yesterday she actually snapped at him and he
snapped back and both backed off. He’s
a tough little shit LOL.
At bedtime, I place him in his crate by 7 pm, allowing the
other two dogs quiet time with Mom and Dad and for the past four nights he has
slept all night and gotten up when I do at 5 am. I put him outside for his morning constitution; his potty
training is going well.
Afterwards he runs straight to his dish looking for
food. As for his appetite, he doesn’t
miss a lick…pun intended. He’s fed
three times a day ¼ cup per feeding but he’s’ always looking for more so today
I increased it to ½ cup/feeding but it doesn’t appears to be enough.
As for basic command, the retractable leash is the key to
training him to come. He’s a quick
learner.
He had his maiden Pontoon voyage last Sunday on the
Sacramento Delta. He loves the open
air, just sat on the wife’s lap and took in all the sights.
