P.S. Can we see photos of your beautiful dog (not just close-ups of the problem areas) :-))
Your Vet doesn't know what the cause is because of 2 reasons - (1) Your Vet is not very familiar with the breed and (2) he or she does not have the test equipment to conduct a proper allergy test to pin point the cause or causes of his skin problem.
My recommendation would be to put him on a good Supplement that will boost his immune system so he is no longer so susceptible towards these type of ailments. I would also ensure he is on a good Grain Free diet.

I would recommend unrefined virgin coconut oil over salmon oil if you have it available to you.
Also grain-free is a good way to go when treating this. Allergies make yeast infections worse, and yeast can feed on sugars from grains and other foods. So try grain free food, stay away from oatmeal baths and keep your dog clean and dry.
I unfortunately do not know anything about Rx Immuno Support, but some supplements like it can really help your dog's immune system to fight off stuff like fungal yeast infections in the future. Steve (BulliesofNC) will have some suggestions, surely.
