My heart is broken.

Today I took Shiloh in for her first ultrasound. The vet said there was a problem and she needed emergency surgery to remove her female parts, the pups didn't make it. Shiloh is in recovery, receiving antibiotics via I.V. My heart is broke but all I want is for Shiloh to recover.

Oh Trent! We feel for you, the loss of the pups is trauma enough but having Shiloh not able to carry again is bad news indeed. Did the vet explain what had gone wrong and why?, had she seemed normal and well up until then?
I am sure she will be fine, how many weeks were the pups along? So sorry!

Trent, after we spoke on the phone all I could think about was Shiloh. What a fluke a bad luck and poor Shiloh. I hope she's doing OK and healing up. I know how disappointed you are and saddened by the whole ordeal.

The vet said 1 in every 1000 has the chance of developing this problem. She was 5 weeks 3 days. He has called me twice this afternoon to let me know that she was standing and trying to walk. He said that he believes he got all of the infection and she should recover.

Shiloh came home today. She is sore but I think she is happy to be home. Thank you to everyone for your kind words and prayers.
