Hi there, does anyone have any issues with excessive shedding, or is it normal? I read the BT normally shed twice a year to a new coat, but my little puppy (just over 3months) sheds a lot. It's not like a big dog like a husky or so that sheds a lot, but my BT looses alot of hair constantly as it shows on all my clothes. It doesnt bother me, but just want to make sure it's nothing to worry about. Thanks

Sometimes it's their diet that can cause excessive shedding. It could be that he or she is lacking in nutritional values. Many people swear by the results they see by supplementing with Omega 3. A good product to use is called Grizzly Oil which is a Salmon Oil high in Omega 3 which is proven to do wonders for a dogs coat.
Additionally, the Furmerator Brush is highly recommended.

Rodney has been shedding for 2 or 3 weeks...a lot.  He had been in NC, so the move to the south is what I thought it was a result from.  We brush him twice a day, which he loves.  He gets groomed once a week, and after he comes home, the hair is everywhere.  I guess the shampooing must loosen lots of hair.  The lady said he should be finished shedding within a week.  Maybe she sees this with most of the dogs, I don't know.

We follow Bullies of NC's recommendation of giving him the Grizzly Oil and NuVet Plus tablets http://bulliesofnc.com/online-store/supplements-vitamins and his coat is really looking good.  Spots on his head and tail are also filling in.

With the change in weather it's normal to see shedding this time of year. The furminator helps a ton!

Okay thank you, I do brush her about every other day, will do so daily now and look into the grizzly oil. Thanks for the help!

Brushing is great but that furminator removes all the old loose hair better than any other brush I've ever used. Awesome brush that reduces shedding up to 80%.

I've never heard of the Furminator, but I just ordered one after reading about it here.  Thanks for the tip.  The reviews were stellar.  Looking forward to it arriving soon.

I LOVE the furminator! It seems like Stoeger sheds a lot of I forget to brush him at least once a week. He sheds a lot more than I would have thought, although I think I have him on a great diet and his coat is nice and thick.

The Furminator has been great.  Thanks for the tip, Steve.  It is amazing the fur that each stroke of it picks up.  I can only imagine the difference it would make on a long-haired dog seeing how much this picks up on a BT.

The prices have dropped from when they first cake out, so consider yourselves lucky if you buy it now, I spent over 60 for it and noticed it was 45 the other day! Should have waited I guess

Just to show how much the kids enjoy the Furminator. The minute I get it out they "assume the position" on the bench so that they get the best back scratch.
