Weird Ball Chewing Antics

Thor repeatedly feels the need to bring his chew toy, be it a ball, Pepsi Max bottle or anything else...and chew it right alongside and/or up against my feet or legs, usually if i'm sitting on the couch (sofa). I can't stand it, cos of the slobber going all over me and the furniture.

Does anyone elses bullie do something similar? What's the best way to prevent this?

    Marco loves to crush tennis balls so they collapse, fall in the pool and fill with water.... once crushed he can fit two in his mouth (so Isabella doesn't get any)... and he brings them to our laps to throw, and chews them and squishes water all over your pants...  My solution... he can no longer bring any balls into the house.... and when we sit outside we throw the balls in the pool where he can't reach them.

    Tennis balls with Maya last about 3 seconds before they are trash. My wife found these solid rubber balls, much like the Super Balls many of us grew up with. They are very dense and weighty. She bought two of them a week or so before I left for Brazil. I've been down here for over 2 weeks and both of the balls are still surviving.

    As far as not being able to tolerate Thor chewing right next to you? Don't know the solution to that as Maya does the same and I have no problem with it. I just change pants and we shampoo the sofa on a regular basis. Part and parcel what ya get for owning a bullie that desires to be near it's human and manifest total love, affection, and loyalty. I figure he most likely feels secure and safe near you.

    YES, my male Cesar does this to me constantly
    if you push him away he will come back and shove the toy into you.

    That is Roxanne to a T, she will be squeezing one ball while pushing the other with her nose or foot. She drools bad but i gather it is from teething? I love to hear the squeaking over and over and when she sits on my feet I feel the love and warmth :). I would take this all day over her chomping on me :)

    Stoeger does that with his bully sticks! He goes crazy throwin it up in the air and bully running for about two mins then settles right on too of me to chew it up. Every time!

    Yes, i never thought about it like that (being a form of affection) - good point.

    So it seems this is common Bull Terrier behaviour then haha.

    Kiko does this all the time.  My take on this is:

    A. An invitation to play!

    or

    B. I want to be near you and I just happen to enjoy chewing on my toy at the same time

    Kiko is very much motivated by toys.  Not so much by food or treats.
