Tips for our new puppy

Hey everyone!!
We just got a new puppy for Christmas. He is our first puppy and we need some helpful tips! He is 10 weeks old and loves to play and chew on things. What do you recommend we feed him, when should we tape his ears if they don't stand up on their own? Any advice will help!!

Now that your puppy is over 8 weeks of age and away from his siblings it would good to be proactive by taping his ears now vice waiting to see if they'll stand on their own. Here's a tutorial video of how to tape them:

Congratulations on your beautiful pup! We're also new to the world of bull terriers, and have found this site to be a treasure trove of advice.   Our Barney just turned 12 weeks old.  Thanks for the link to the taping video. Barney's ears stand up, but the other day after his nap, they looked more like a little lamb's ears than a Bully's! They perked right up after he fully woke up.

Thanks for the video to tape his ears. We taped them last night and can't wait to see how they look on 4 more days! I will keep you updated!

Great taping job! And he looks like he's being so tolerant... I hope it doesn't put a dampener in his New Year Eve party plans,.... Don't forget the cottage cheese and the Knox gelatin for this process... Good luck with how it turns out... For some people it's only taken one taping... With us it took about 10!!!!

One thing you may want to try is trimming the underside of the bridge... If it rubs on the top of his head it can irritate the he'll out of him... 1/2" clearance should be fine.

Put the entire packet on his food once a day.

Barney's strawberry nose is a little kiss magnet. He has a heart-shaped spot on his upper lip: he has "lover boy" written all over his face!

I think Steve means an entire Sachet.... they typically come in sachets in the box... If you add the whole box I don't think his tail will ever wag again..  everything will be so stiff!!

Ruger would not stop scratching his ears with the tape on. We ended up taking the tape off last night after only 2 days and his ears are looking pretty good! It's been about 24 hours since taking the tape off and they are still standing and I'm hoping they continue staying up!! Hopefully he can grow into his ears haha

I'm glad you took the tape off after two days. I need to have Craig redo that video because the tape shouldn't be left on for more than 48 hours (my opinion).
His ears look great now and I think the tape training worked perfectly. In the event one ear drops in a day or two just repeat the process.
