Help needed for my 5 month old EBT
My 5 month old male EBT is starting to have signs if bald patches. I took him to the vets who took a scrapping and saod straight away that he had mites.
They prescribed a 1 off shampoo which was toxic which I was scared to use, but although he seems to have stopped scraching he is still getting bald patches. Can some please help before thing start to get worse :-( if you have any advice it would be very much appreciated.
Cheers from Sid my EBT

What your Bull Terrier needs is something to boost his immune system so he won't have any negative effects from common mites found on all dogs. The problem occurs when a dogs immune system may be a little under developed. Most dogs will have no effect from mites unless their immune system is working overtime in attempt to ward off any negative reactions. Look up the most common causes for localized demodectic mange and you'll conclude it to be a fault within the dogs immune system. Many Bull Terriers suffer from this in their youth and slowly improve as they mature.
My recommendation to you would be to provide your Bullie with a supplement that will boost his immune system. I use a product called NuVet. I would also rub some Bag Balm on the problem areas. Proper nutrition is very important for Bull Terriers. Here's a link to our recommendations on proper Bull Terrier Nutrition - http://bulliesofnc.com/bull-terrier-nutrition
Give this a try for a couple weeks and I'm very confident you'll see positive results.
