Brooklyns trip to Vet and Lake today!
I was so proud of this lil girl! She was a dream for the vet when her vaccines were given this AM. No fuss at all! Got lots of love from Techs and the Doc. She met a very adorable boy Boston Terrier in the waiting room named Herman and it was love at first sight! ROFL!!! What a hussy! I did not tell Pumba about Herman when we got home! So we both went out of there happy. For a special treat, this time on the way home I took her to the lake which is about halfway between my place and town.
She was unimpressed by all that water or the lil wavelets that rolled onshore. She showed more interest in the water skiers especially when one of them took a dive and splash-down and had to be picked up again. But the Geese, Herons and Ducks!!! HOO-RAH!!!!!/ Oh she wanted one of those geese in the worst way! Out of the 12 species of Canada Geese we have 3 or 4 here at any one time. The Giants who migrate every year, the smallest of the subspecies The Cackling Goose & The Dusky Canada were here today, and these two subspecies stay here year-round. The Giants are the shyest, the Duskys will let a dog get a bit closer and the little Cackling Geese are quite bold. But just enough to lure the dog into chasing them!
However none of them would cooperate and stay on shore so she could get them! NO, they were quite unsportsmanlike and insisted on paddling out to deep water every single time she approached. LOL I think she will have to go to the lake everytime we go to town now!
We had a fun day and she is now exhausted and asleep. I hope all of you had a great day too and are in for a wonderful weekend!

Hmmm. that was not supposed to Post already! Jeez. Anyway, as we have herons here and wild turkeys like you guys back east do, it will be fun when they come back for the winter! I saw my first Buck(nice rack too) with some Does this AM for the first time in about 3 years. Brooklyn was on her lead as it was very early so I'm just as happy she did not notice them. Don't get to see bucks very often at all, just the does and fawns.
Elk are plentiful this year also(maybe because its been rather dry?) and I don't want Brook getting any ideas about those big guys! Have a great week! Your little guy will be having fun with you soon Stoeger! You can bet on it! LOL Sonja, Pumba & Brooklyn
