i cannot tell atm as the sun is shining right in on the computer screen.
damnit, im trying to find one of my FB freinds who has a fawn/ liver brindle bully that is GORGEOUS! i had the picture of his dog saved on my computer, but last month it crashed and i lost everything, now im trying to figure out which freind it was!
i really like some livers, charlie was my favorite liver, her color and markings reminded me so much of a dog i had long ago named zoe who was a red pointed dobermon/setter mix.
those people were actually inbreeding from father to daughter to get livers, and i dont know if they are still breeding but would never recommend them, what charlie died from is considered genetic.
Yep, liver Tri's. Looks like you have 2 in the litter from the photo you posted. They would still be registered as Black Tan and White (Code 030). However, when explaining their true color they would be a liver pigmented Tri colored bullie. AKC has no color code for Liver as it is not within the standards.
Sharkjet is this puppy for sale? I know someone who wants to buy a liver puppy female and she would probably put a deposit now on one, please let me know !!!
They are for sale, but both are male. Thanks for asking for parents pics, it made me realize I dont have recent pics of them on my pc. The tri-color dam is over 2 yrs of age now, the white sire is 5 months old or younger in these pics. He is large, and still getting thicker by the day. Thanks for trying, wish one was a female for your friend.
awww your bullies are just gorgeous! i think its pretty cool you have 2 liver pups in the litter!! too bad they are boys!! maybe next time u will have a girl! I get people all the time contacting me looking for that color.
Thanks so much for the compliments! Jet had 10 puppies starting at 8 pm new years eve and the last puppy at 4 pm the next day. 6 lived. The vet x-rayed 3 times and said "7-9". These guys are pets...the pregnancy wasnt planned, but wasnt a bad thing either. I was unaware of the breed standards until I found this forum. I realize that 95+% of bull terriers wont be show dogs, but no more puppies here. Thanks again!
Sharkjet - Just so you're aware, a couple of the white puppies born from your litter may also be liver. Obviously it's hard to tell right now because their eyes aren't open and no pigment on their nose has developed. However, as they get older and start developing pigment on their nose you may very well notice them showing up with red pigment vice black. A liver Bull Terrier will also have very light colored eyes.
In order to develop a liver puppy both the sire and dam must carry the liver gene in order to produce one.
Great pictures of your dogs. Thanks for sharing.

Most likely they will. However, if they were to breed the only way they could produce another liver colored puppy would be to breed with another Bull Terrier who also carried the gene.
Many club members and owners who show Bull Terriers frown on Livers or any other Bull Terrier that has some color or quality that's outside the breed standards.
However, like any breed of dog, there will always be people fascinated by the rarity of a dog that's different than the standard. Some will even deliberately breed them as a "Designer" dog. It's kind of like seeing a white Boxer. Obviously Boxers are not supposed to be white but there are plenty of people who would prefer one due to their rarity. However, breeding for this color would only hurt the breed standards and pose possible genetic health disorders. Those that wish to retain the pedigree value of a breed try to maintain the standards by producing puppies which emulate the standards as close to perfect as possible.
