  • in my opinion it is an average pedigree with no significant dogs, none that I recognize. But the pedigree isn't everything, ive seen hideous dogs with wonderful pedigrees, and amazing dogs with horrible pedigrees, and i've seen amazing dogs with no paper work at all!! can you share with us some photos of her?

The sire and dam come from a non-reputable AKC kennel affiliation so there's no telling what breeding practices they had. The sire's entire pedigree is unknown.

Here's some photos from the dam's side:

Danielle is correct. Average pet quality AKC pedigree. Most of the Windy Knoll lines were smaller bullies with more of the old school athletic appearance. Some prefer this look.

Nothing wrong with the pedigree of your litter especially coming from a breeder who provided you with FULL registration rights which is a rarity for any breeder who cares about the pedigree of their bloodlines.

Thanks. I had many conversations with Ginnie about the breed, as well as my interests and intentions. She Granted me FULL registraton rights after we agreed & spoke on many issues.
I promised her I would incorporate 'Windy Knoll' into the pups' name (which I did). And we also agreed that I would consult with her on future breedings and only grant limited registration.  However I can no longer reach her.
You might not remember but you and I also had a few conversations and you directed me to Ginnie. Since I cannot reach her I am happy I can still reach you and rely on some of your knowlege and expertise to assist me.
Honestly, I don't want an OK pedigree. I want to start with GREAT pedigrees. Should I consider retiring Sally from breeding and bring home another little girl? Do you think Ginnie would approve 'Sallys' pedigree for breeding? What would you do?- considering I want to raise stellar bullies with equally stellar pedigrees.

^  I'm sure we spoke in the past since I used to advertise for Ginne and Windy Knolls. As a matter of fact I used to advertise for James Weaver, the original owner of Windy Knolls, before he passed away.

If you were looking for "Great" pedigree why didn't you hold out for a puppy being advertised as a Pedigree V and VI? Please don't get me wrong, I don't think there's anything wrong with the pedigree or bloodlines of the bullies you have. There's more to breeding quality Bull Terriers than just pedigree. Most people are more concerned with temperament and health.

If you have the intent to breed there's sooo much to learn in order to breed properly so your bloodlines develop a reputation for quality and health. Please feel free to call me and I'll be happy to provide you whatever information you need and answer any questions you have.

I'm sure Ginne would approve of Sally's pedigree. Ginne really hasn't been doing very much breeding ever since we stopped advertising for her about 2 years ago.

  • Ok, thanx. I'll definately do that.
  • When Steve was advertising for Ginne, I purchased our Snoopy from Ginne.  Snoopy is now 3 years old.  He is small-weighing in at 45 pounds. He has a very athletic build, and his nose is not really a Roman nose.  I think he's a very elegant looking Bullie.  When I see him silhouetted in profile, he has a beautiful neck, head, and nose line. BUT the more exaggerated noses seem to be what people prefer-as does my husband.  Ginne sold us a very pretty, healthy, and great tempered Bullie as a pet quality, non-breeding dog.  I really dealt more with Steve at that time, because he was the online contact person.  Steve made the process of buying Snoopy fun and personal.
Snoopy got us hooked on Bullies, and I followed (and continue to follow) Steve's activities on his website and this forum.  When Cyra produced a litter 8 months ago, I asked Steve if we could have one of the little girls.  Voila!  Daisy is ours.  She's is a gorgeous red and white smut with a lovely egg shaped head.  Steve and Julie have worked hard and conscientiously to create really healthy, nice tempered, beautiful Bullies.  As I read all the information on this forum, I realize just how difficult it must be to raise Bullies and to continue to evolve over many years.  What dedication!
