  • I remember Sooner:)  Did I see Rocky?
  • BulliesofNCBulliesofNC Richlands, NC

Yes, you saw Rocky. He was the puppy running around inside the house. He's just growing like a horse. He's 12 months old now and nearly 70 pounds.

This was him sneaking into the weening box with a couple of the puppies. He's a big BOZO!

  • what is that you have them in? the little white puppy looks so little. Claxxton is 30 pounds at 4 months.
  • i thought it was a storage container haha but that must be a water loft for horses or something? it must be bigger if you have a male bullie in there.

LMAO ~ Ya, we had two litters at once and we had the puppies in weening boxes, 2 per box. We're clean freaks and wish to ensure they have ample space and room to roam while providing a clean box. Nope, it doesn't help having a 70lbs bullie jump in and share the space!

These puppies were 4 weeks not 4 months. The little white runt illustrated was the toughest!

Too bad you weren't closer, I'd love for Claxxton to meet Rebel Rock. He's still a puppy at 12 months old with a 24" neck. Claxxton may have to eat some more meat to catch up to him.  #-o

  • Yeah that sucks your not closer! I would never have guessed he is 70 pounds, can you put him on a scale and take a photo for me? :P Claxxton's dad was a monster, with a killer head to match, that with the blood behind him I know he wont be tall, which is great for me! Too many bullies I see these days have long legs, and I prefer the bullie type. Its hard to tell in photos the structure and size of bullies, you gotta see them in person to really get a good idea of the size and how much bone they have. Every time other people with bullies meet claxxton there amazed at how short and wide he is for his age, they keep telling me hes going to be a beast but if hes anything like his dad that will definitely be true. They keep asking me what i feed him as if that is going to be the reason but its all the genetics. I was looking into a stud dog once and he looked so nice in the photos and I went over to see him in person and i about died. This male was about 35 pounds in person!! He looked nothing like that in photos and it was so surprising, obviously I decided not to use him I didn't want little minis. Good thing we chose to do AI with ellie and the stud, he was so huge I dont think they could have bred naturally I was saying he would break her back!! The average bullie is not that size, so that makes it hard for breeding.

  • Love the head on bella those should be some nice pups!
  • Oh yea I wanted to ask you something about shipping, have you ever needed to ship a puppy during the summer when its too hot to ship? Do you know by any chance the best way to do that as in are there often night flights or airlines that you can ship anytime like climate controlled?
  • One thing a show fancier told me when teaching me what to look for in
bullies was that a good structured bullie will have the chest below the
elbows, meaning there not too tall and have a good depth of chest, and
rib spring, I never knew that so I notice it all the time now. Ellies
biggest puppies chest is crazy in depth and hes still a monster like he
started out as, I still think they should have kept the name andre the
giant haha, but they named him a typical "dozer." Lol. He's 50 pounds at
6 months and still has feet too big for his size to grow into, they
kept saying oh hes going to be 80 pounds and I was doubting it but now
im not so sure haha. What makes me even more happy is to see that the
teeth have remained good! But I dont think 40 pounds in 8 months will be hard to accomplish for Claxxton, but if hes not 70 pounds thats okay by me, hes got a lot to offer besides his weight and his health is number one priority. =D
  • Hey which bullie is the one on the right on the forum banner? Who is his parents?

Wow Danielle, you have like 10 different subjects started on this thread now if I answer all those questions. :-O

Shipping - I provide canine flight shipment year round through Delta. Acclimation statements from a board certified Vet along with a health assessment are required for all flights. These statements have to be conducted within 10 days of the scheduled flight. Outside temperatures due not play any factor for those international aitports that possess climate controlled holding areas. In the event you're shipping to an airport without one they will go off outside temperatures which will result in being denied canine shipment for most of the summer months.

We have never had any problems with canine flights through Delta and to be honest I'd much rather see one of my puppies that has to go to a home from a far distance like California travel via air vice being put in a kennel for days while the owner drives them across the country. Delta canine flights are climate controlled and I can guarantee any puppy would be better off on a quick flight than having to travel in a car for a very long journey.

Yes, Rocky is huge and gets a lot of attention from personnel who stop by to visit us. It's very hard to get an idea of his size from the photos. When he was 7 months old I was telling another breeder about his head size and they didn't beleive me and asked for an upclose photo of his head with me holding him. I'm 5' 11" and weight 190. The hand is mine and this is Rocky at 7 months old:

Here's a photo of him tieing with a customers female from Ann-Dee's lines. This was a good size female about 20lbs lighter than Rocky at the time who hunched over to achieve a tie. Rocky has a such a good personality and gets along with all dogs. He's already begun his studding career and has quite a few others wishing to breed with him. I'll have to take a video of him soon.

Craig provided me with the picture of the solid white dog on the right of the banner. We wanted to show every popular EBT color. I think this is a picture of Samson which was his old stud from a while back. The brindle male I think is his current male, Lucian. The red and white is Karamel and the Tri is Cyra.

From what you describe, Claxxton should reach a nice height and weight himself. Heck the males continue filling out until they're about 20 months old. He may reach his full height at 12 months but he'll still be filling out.

  • Okay, I remember Rocky in the house.  I didn't get to see him very long because you brought the little puppies out for me to see.  Rocky is very large.  I didn't realize he was that young until you told me. If I remember correctly, you told me a story about Rocky liking to get in the shower?  Or was that another dog?
  • I didnt realize delta was climate controlled and allowed shipping throughout the year, I will have to use them if I decide to ship during the summer. I agree with you fully, shipping is fine and safe, ive shipped to new york twice and ellie came from PA, all was fine they just need a bath afterwards!! haha
  • I really like that white male on the banner, he was gorgeous!
  • BulliesofNCBulliesofNC Richlands, NC

Mary - Yep, that was Rocky. For some reason he loves showers and if you aren't paying attention he'll jump right in and join you. He's a bit of a clown and really loves attention.

Danielle - If you like that white dog, I think you'd really like Sooner. The photo of him above is him at 7 months old. He doesn't have the size of Rocky but what a head!
