I saw this on face book and I was wondering if this will work or if this is a good idea?? This might come in handy if you have a difficult mother and want to sleep through the night but it had me wondering if it will be safe??

I would not recommend bottle feeding puppies this way. Many puppies require assistance when suckling from a bottle. Adding this much milk to one container would cause the liquid to cool very fast and the puppies are pretty finicky about milk temperatures. This puppy looks very young and hopefully they did all they could to at least allow the puppy 2 days to receive milk from the mother so the puppy could benefit from the mothers valuable colostrum. In the event bottle feeding is mandated you’d be a lot better off individually hand feeding the puppies so you can feed each one the milk at optimal temperatures and ensure they all receive appropriate amounts. I like to record the feedings so I know how much each puppy has drunk. My recommendation is to individually feed, record how many ounces each puppy drank, and force the puppy to use the bathroom by use of a large cotton ball and warm water. Do this for each puppy one at a time and you shouldn’t have any problems. Allowing the puppies to drink from this big bottle poses problems with sucking in air, clogging nipples, cold temperatures, wasted formula, and lack of proper monitoring.

  • Imagine if there was something you could buy though like a life like stuffed dog that was temperature controlled, that could be used for times while your sleeping or not at home. My friend said no it wouldnt work because the puppies would over eat, I just thought they would suck in too much air and you cant be sure how much there eating.
