Memphis skin nightmare🙉

Hello all, its been awhile.
I have no easy sailing with Memphis.
Its been up n down for ages and I got to this level of severity. Refer to pictures. As I write, its only day three since. His skin is still showing angry redness which I think is a concern regardless of AB and injections administered on Wednesday.
Prior to seeing the vet, we drastically did a 180 on his raw diet of lamb. My partner had enough and decided to feed him cooked Turkey mince (not organic) brown rice, cooked carrot and egg (not organic) Nothing changed except he was hungry.
I took him to the vet Wednesday and decided to leave him to be sedated, investigated and treated. They nor I expected this Level of infection. I am glad they did a thorough check and treatment. He is on antirobe 150mg AB for 20days. I went back to raw lamb and raw veggies day after visit. Waiting patiently for some relief as I dont want to go back to pump more AB etc. and be told to change diet so I'm doing it earlier than revisit on 27/12.
I forgot to mention he had AB injection about six weeks back, Chinese skin supplements etc but the infection came back to this. Oregano oil plus all other supps could not stop it. I know somewhere, I am feeding his body with the culprit or my environment. The salt water swim always did him good but I'm still trying to solve the real reason to get him to a somewhat healthy dog.
My vet still believes he needs 30% raw veg which can be turnip, daikon, lettuce, greens, little carrot, green pear (cooling veg)
I have never fed him kibble and still reluctant but others tell me to try. This goes against everything I research but i do ultimately want a happy dog.
Just doing my best.
BTW he is happy with his stick🥰

I know Steve. I held off for so long, I always do but I couldn't contain it. I try so hard!
I think he's only had 5 courses of AB in his life.
He looks better this morning at least.
I'll update on his progress😊
Just keep approaching like you are, ask many questions and make the best decisions you can. I pray for the best.
Thankyou Boomer, I am asking everywhere just 'maybe' ive missed something or not tried something 'magical'. You know I'd really like to sleep outside with Memphis for a week to rule out indoor environment. Our weather has been to up n down but maybe. I'm keen🥰
I just sent these pics from today (after exercise, swim) to my vet to give me more advice going forward. He gets new welts upon heat of his body. Everyday is important as I dont want more AB. For them, another course is not a problem but everyday it bothers ME and ultimately Memphis. You see I only go this route at the very end when I can do no more. I don't want him deceased so what can one do? How much decline can I see whilst trying 'all' on natural remedies and a decline in his health n happiness😖
I fought hard for both of them to remain intact, for their health and so on. I know I am to be more positive....visualize the healing....and it will manifest but ive been so let down when ive been so hopeful. Prior to his last AB injection the vet let me do a week oregano oil natural AB/arma force natural immune supplement but I couldn't contain the infection! I then had to give in.
Your story is sadly the case for a lot of owners I talk to. They tell me their stories and constant medication that they blindly are using as they see results. As per vets recommendations.
Do I want Memphis to live longer on these medications and have some quality of life or me getting shorter good days and back to this. Some say my way even though I mean well, may be a crueler route🤔
Ill keep you all updated. I'm sorry to rehash your memories forgive me🙏
Just remembered, he is a lazy drinker, always has been. He needs fluids to flush out toxins!!! I had his urine tested way back and it was all good just concentrated. Our water is bad as you know. I structure it so to speak but he doesn't drink it, well rarely. He goes to the outside water bowl which is rain/tap water. He used to drink with Moose, then I had to stick my head in the bowl as he waited for a friend lol I didnt want to make a habit of it and he can drink solo too. Just that its not an adequate amount for his toxic body. I am thinking the AB may have put him off the water a bit. I'll just have to syringe some for his benefit😉
And then there's the missing of Moose in play here with his health💫
Hello again all🙂
I am at a cross road with my Memphis. We are getting no where with his recurring skin infections adjusting diet and supplementation. He rapidly declined and AB was my only option even though I know I am harming him whilst trying to work with my vet.
It isn't working, I am near the end of another cycle of strong AB and ??? I have researched again and am waiting for the other vet at the practice (my one treating Memphis is on leave) to give me her opinion as I think he needs 'leaky gut' treatment (supplied info/remedies to them to read) which is cease AB and uptake of different supplements, amino acids I think? etc. Today is my last day waiting for them.
Memphis doesn't have time on his side. I have an interstate homeopath lined up. I just want to work alongside the vet, know if they can't offer more than meds and if things go haywire I can go back as they know his history etc.
I'm reluctant to just go to another vet as 99% will just pump big pharma meds. My one is open to alternative, natural remedies at least. The suggestion of skin specialist will most likely entail antiinflammatory, steroid medication etc was the vets response.
If I do cease AB which finish this Friday, I have to be realistic in that he may pass from this infection if no medication intervention was agreed. It gets that bad really! Others would know who've experienced this.
I've nursed him at home for a week and more as his feet got that bad and neocort made them swell more. It was Moose all over. Syringing water etc. Memphis is the exact age Moose was when he passed😞
I've also spoken to their breeder who i keep in touch, updated. Has no experience with this issue with his dogs. Ive seen his photos and others from litters. Two are near my way and no issues he's aware of. Mother since passed at home. He feeds his dogs kibble nothing special. Hardy on land where they've always been lucky to have. He's lovely, doesn't brush me off but hasn't had any problems so can't advise but to try kibble. I'm so not for commercial food. Memphis still on raw but I had to cook it a bit to get his appetite up to eat. This is normal with all the crap I have to shove down his throat😖
Memphis at least got the energy for a swim n walk today. This is day three walking which I am happy to see.
I will keep you updated🙏
Happy fourth birthday my spirit Moose love n light🤍

Yes Steve just went through his allergy report from 2022 again.
-grass, plant mould, fungus
- chicken, duck, pork peas, corn, halibut, oats, turkey, buckwheat, chickpea, dairy, oatmeal, peanut
Memphis is severely limping, hind leg this time. Bathed him in Epsom salts. He is very sombre. Was crying last night in which I slept through. I'm still couch sleeping with him. He may have hurt his leg further last night in moving to the other couch. Idk.
I wasn't happy with one vet's options for leaky gut treatment so I'm waiting for his vet (back Monday) for her advice on leaky gut treatment minus AB etc.
His course of AB finish this Friday. It was a three week course this time. I know this is bad but I have to realise he may not make an alternative treatment plan without. It is touch n go with him. I use the days he is able to walk, swim as I dont know when it may be his last.
I'm also waiting on online homeopath treatment plan. We had a public holiday too so time is not favoring me.
Ive given them both all history and current meds he is on. Diet etc. I cannot get all supps in him from the vet as it is as he only eats one meal and these supps/veggies put him off. Thinking of smoothie for him and syringing? He hates me I'm sure and I dislike all this too.
He had hair radionics test prior to Xmas and supps were dispensed accordingly. His urine was good last visit. Had bloods done when shaved n treated. That's all I can remember for now.
Will update again.

Thanks Steve.
Btw hes allergic to coconut, I missed writing this one....so no shampoo as such. Oh the grass....how can I possibly keep him off grass? Once I cross the road, near the beach yes I'm ok but there's no way to avoid unless I walk with the cars. I always wash with water afterwards. Yes its in the backyard. Idk how to limit him. He'll be bored if not with me out there.
I've been pretty consistent with diet over their years. I mainly stuck with raw lamb and supps were to imitate your nuvet as I understood they needed extra support with immune system. Thats my natural way from the start. Its only when they'd present with symptoms do I omit a supp, try a new protein or lastly follow the vets advice! You say a good trusted food? I haven't sourced an organic, unvax, grass fed/finished protein for him nor myself.
Long story short. Ive decided this afternoon to go with the animal homeopath I had lined up and her protocol for leaky gut. I am confident and happy with the products/remedies suggested nothing synthetic as such. I still have to set a diet plan. As I said i don't have time on my side. The vet mucked me around so my decision was easily made. I will have a natural AB along with other things to help strengthen his immune system etc.
I understand that stress plays a huge role in his immune system and mine but truly, he couldnt walk yesterday. He chose not too. Not going out the back with me in the garden is a big 'I can't.
Today he was up moving. I took him out but not swimming as he will jump gung ho and hinder his leg again. He doesn't just swim, he jumps in, runs for his stick. He doesn't worry about any pain as you know how they are😉 its after that he suffers. He walked home very fatigued, panting. I can see he has no stamina for distance. His body runs 'hot' and it is obvious. Honestly I cannot drag him out with his fatigued body or a bad limp. A slight limp yes. I did this with Moose and it looked cruel and his suffering I missed. I know our loss of Moose is another big factor. I cannot entertain Memphis all day. If he is beside me at home, I will entertain him with his stick throwing but not with leg issues so yes he's bored but with me all the time. There is always someone home with him. No crate. He understands when I need to go out and settles well.
I am hopeful this new pathway will work. I'm praying I can reverse any damage and have a happy, strong boy in which he can endure longer exercise time n play.
I'll let you know how we go🙏
Sorry didnt know how to delete pic (one without him)
He sits in the neighbors yard, not our yard, no fence.
Update,
Getting homeopathic remedies sent today, I'm excited to get him started and well.
Surprise morning. A lovely elderly gentleman (Kernel Sanders look) asked to take a pic of Memphis this morning. Guess where's he's from Steve? ...
North Carolina😃 I told him about you and I wish I could just rock in with my Memphis😉 I know he's not pure bully but I love him with his 12% staffy mix regardless🥰

Hello
Its day five on homeopathic treatment. We are adjusting, its not worse. Skin will show signs of detoxing etc. so wounds around ankles, nose are still weeping.
He finally has more appetite and getting some weight back on. Had pulling strength on our walk back home! Full walk, swim, run on the beach today. I think he is a happier dog. It is early days but every day is a good day, healing his body. I am feeling very positive for an excellent outcome for Memphis💙
Your boy is so adorable and I am so sorry you’re dealing with skin issues. I have a 3 year old male who licks his feet occasionally. We bath him about once every two weeks, and then blow dry his skin to get an access water off. If he goes outside tho and lays in the grass we will give him another bath to remove all pollen and dander off of him. Did you have the blood test for his allergies or just the gut, nails and saliva one? Those arnt accurate and maybe some coconut oil might do him some good unsure you know it wouldn’t. I have my boy on instinct raw/kibble. It has grains and freeze dried raw salon. He looks it. We also add organic fresh (or frozen) kale, some strawberries or bananas and a splash of organic plain Kiefer or Greek yogurt to his food 2x a day. His skin is better, I recommend! I wish you the best!
Thankyou for responding and all your advice🙏
I only did saliva, hair testing. Coconut is a trigger but hopefully when his gut is happier, he won't be as sensitive to triggers.
He is looking and feeling a lot better!
We are getting there.
We will tweak his diet again when it is the right time. I am happy he has appetite and is gaining weight n strength finally🙏
Hello all
What a time, every day is a blessing he is here!
From having a positive response on homeopathy for the first week to a dramatic rapid decline on Saturday. His joints have severely swelled. He could barely walk. Devastated. He was and is critical as each day can change.
All I can think is I was giving him small amounts of beef mince with his herbs. I did gradually increase without a thought as he was feeling good. A new dog. However Saturday was scary, he couldn't walk! Ive ditched the beef but thought I'd try small amounts of rabbit as it is a cooling protein. Lamb is hot and he needs cooling . Well he started mobilizing better however severe infections have surfaced.
The homeopath recommended another allergy/hair test which I'm waiting on. He has AB herb tonic which is increased. He is not as mobile today. His skin is sore. Legs are sore. I cannot let him run when he wants too (stick play) as his paws bleed. It is touch n go. I do really hope he has time for us to resolve via the results of the allergy test. The homeopath is on leave but contactable however if he gets too bad, I will be at the vet again.
Steve, I'm gonna ask what would you do?
Any new vet I approach will 100% put him on AB for current infections and more, plus order more tests etc. We know this is not for the good of the dog but to keep him alive. I am told see another vet, there are good vets.....I know they all treat the same with medications so I am not going on the hunt for the same drill nor pumping him with meds for life. He doesn't have time to experiment on harming medications whilst they try to diagnose either. I have absolutely no confidence in this path. Leaky gut is his issue. (Bloods, urine were done December, all ok)
Am I wrong to think this?
My take and reality is..... If this homeopathy doesn't work and he passes, I will live with this decision.
Do you keep a dog on life long medication to give life knowing it will bring consequences after? Then have to deal with the severity of a sick dog later? I believe he won't live long on medication anyway.
I know this is a personal question and not everyone will agree.
Some say what's wrong if he needs lifelong medication? He and I get more years (maybe) he's young, deserves more etc.
He is being treated naturally with AB herbs, immune boosting tonics, probiotics, gut healing supp, skin herb spray, herbal shampoo. I feel comfortable knowing it doesn't give him long term side effects.
Oxygen therapy was another option but not available here that I can source.
Your honest opinion appreciated.
Hi Sarah,
Memphis skin condition looks painful, I feel horrible you guys are going through this. Billie had those sores on her ankles - I took her to the vet and she was given 10 days of oral antibiotics, which didn't help. It took over 2 months for her ankle sores to heal. I hope Memphis gets better soon, sending prayers your way
Hello Tina 😃
Nice to hear from you.
I wish I could have better news for you. I'm in a hard place.
As you probably know from reading my prior posts, I font think AB are going to do much. Hes had way too many and hardcore super ones already. Infection spots I'm applying neem oil dilution. It softens the scabs, hair etc plus all homeopathy items. It can only do so much as its internal that I can't remedy.
He isnt mobilizing much at all
We're critical. Vet in the morning.
His days of waiting new allergy test whilst on homeopathic protocol is not favoring him. So sad to see Moose in his eyes and face. Body is shutting down🥺
Unsure if he'll be coming home.
If he does come home he will be loaded with AB plus....
Most likely it will be decided after bloodwork.
😥😥😥😥
Oh Memphis, he doesn't look well. I hope the vet is able to help him feel better and he's able to pull through! My prayers are with you 🙏
Oh Tina!!!😳😳😳😳
He's suffering sepsis, organs still ok thank God. Currently on iv fluids, AB at the vet. First night. Ive been up n back twice (hour each way)/bringing him food, stick, love. He was so very brave as I helped them do wound care on his feet. They are so sore. He didn't bite anyone. I will be bringing him home tomorrow with iv pump and returning Monday for bloodwork update and most likely IV in there.
He needs time on his side as itll be two weeks before new allergy test comes back to highlight our way forward. Homeopath needs more info to work with🍀🍀🍀
Glad to hear he's receiving treatment and hopefully he'll get better soon ❤️ Keep us posted on his progress
Ok he doesn't look as good as I'd hope. Very delirious coming out of sedation as he cried to come home☹️
They took this opportunity to clean other wounds. He didn't give much response of 'happy to see me' I felt so bad leaving him all alone. Hes been loaded with multiple AB and more. He was whimpering when nearing the exit of the vet to say 'take me home'
We are home with IV pump slept a lot though. He got up before did his wee wee, got his stick but wouldn't eat. Well two itsy bitsy pieces hardly food.
Hes very content now knowing hes here and I'm not going.
Back on Monday for bloodwork and reevaluation🙏
Ok we've turned the corner!
Eating, weeing, happy as, mobility great too👏👏👏👏
We can enjoy our Sunday🌼☀️
Update tomorrow🙏
That's great to hear!!
Omg Tina and all😳
We've gone from turning the corner early in the day (Sunday) to back the other way dramatically👎
After a declining, sombre, pain absorbed Memphis .... I had little positivity for today's vet visit.
BUT he had blood work redone, WBC down from 35 to 30.. Should be 15 so a long way yet, culture report received to confirm correct AB use, which we are AND a good medicated bath/soak/gentle scrub, brush after.....
We have a beautified, happy, eating Memphis showing improvement! Whilst not a long term plan to eliminate reoccurrence, yet...we can bring him pain free to better health to manage this without medication🙏
I still believe my homeopath can, once new allergy/hair report comes back, rectify/heal him from meds and tweak a more defined plan for us🙏 she is away unfortunately.
I will also take in consideration, what if any more my vet can suggest. 😊
Due to go back next Friday. Maintaining medicated bath, soak every three days. AB oral for one week. He has 2 week long acting injectible AB in his system till next Friday. I know Steve AB😖
I'll upload pic of his scary, stinky infected sores prior to his clean happy self today.

Thankyou
🙏🙏🙏. All
We are enjoying some relief and joy for Memphis. I know it's not resolved but happy times are to be treasured ❤️🐾
He finally is vocally happy, has thin legs, cleaned infection sores, appetite, drinking, pooping, and we've begun to venture out for very short strolls. Strolls for a bully is 'WTF was that, no swim, stick........ u-turn?' 😉
But I can see he can only do so much AND its hot presently. Little steps to build him up until I see he is not breathless.
Positive signs guys💙🐾
Good to hear he's improving ❤️
Hi Sarah,
How's Menphis doing?
Sorry I haven't updated here🙏
Memphis is getting better if we are looking at WBC count on bloods however he will remain on AB injections for another 6 weeks possibly. No future remedy from vet except diet. I knew this before, I just went this route to keep him breathing whilst I still try to get my homeopath to help. I am still waiting in new allergy test to come back.
He is enjoying the days better even though his infections are very aggressive (top of back, tail, ankles) They will not go away unless we get some forward indication why. I know I'll have to do the medicated wash often to keep them at bay. We are having a streak of very hot weather which isn't in his favour either. Pics are misleading in that you cannot see these crusty red sores that quickly rise and produce.
Day at a time, enjoy every moment and pray this test indicates something we can change.💙
I glad to hear his spirits are up in spite of his skin/health. I know skin issues with BT's are challenging to say the least. I hope the allergy test comes back soon. Keeping you guys in prayer ❤️
Thankyou Tina!
Finally after hot days he did his normal long walk, swim with more ease🥰
Moose sends his love in the skies above🙏 the geoengineering clouds stood no chance😉
Beautiful pic of Memphis and loving memories of Moose ❤️ Glad to hear he's doing better!
Hello All!
Memphis has improved greatly since his infection which is wonderful to see. However this is on long route of AB. Vet scheduled for tomorrow to do bloods, AB injection most likely.
I received his new allergy report yesterday. Yes, I'm overwhelmed at the work thats needed. Diet, detoxing and elimination.
He has MAJOR highlighted for pain, inflammation, bacteria, virus
MINOR for thyroid which I'll run past vet tomorrow.
He has immune system imbalances for bacteria, fungus, pesticide, mold, parasites, yeast, vaccinosis, inflammation, pain, virus, candida, emotions, thyroid.
Lamb (which is his main protein) is a moderate sensitivity so I'm advised to change. But what? Ive done numerous changes. Even though beef isnt highlighted, I know its no good. I was giving beef and rabbit before he went downhill. Venison I haven't tried.
There are many items, some grasses, chemicals to read up on.
We will be commencing several detoxes, supplementing more, spraying, washing etc as per homeopath in the coming weeks once AB have ceased. Supplementing, probiotics, washes have been implemented throughout his recovery. We pray we do not fall backwards and down more pharma medications which we know has impaired his immune system but given us life to resolve his issues properly.
He is a stressed out boy, lost Moose and has not been in good health mind n body. I can only give so much of my time and he needs more happy, dog time. To bring another dog for love as medicine is too much of a gamble presently. I dont think I can manage if it was to fail🤔 and I have a lot on my plate at home. Thankfully I am at home and can dedicate the nursing he requires💙 He is back to doing his long walk, swim, run and has pulling energy😉
PS: when you look at the lying down head up position in comparison to standing on the balcony...it looks like two different dogs. Moose shines through 100% in the lying down position. He will always be there even when we aren't looking...HE IS LOOKING🤍💙💫

Thankyou I'll see if I can get it here.
He is eating pork day four now🤞
So glad Memphis is doing better ❤️
Yes lovely to see🙏🙏🙏
Looking good Memphis ❤️
Hello all🙂
Just updating as its been awhile.
We are back to the vet tomorrow as he is going backwards once again.
After long haul of AB after sepsis, we changed his diet, followed homeopath protocol but it is not enough to keep him from infection outbreak. It starts small and then its rapid. Medicated washes keep it clean but he is feeling n showing the signs.
My homeopath is getting new glacier products from the US very soon and we can try this. It will always be trial n error but poor Memphis has to endure this up n down of health.
He will most definitely get another run of AB from the vet. This is so unfortunate but as I said the homeopath remedies of natural AB, fungal/bacterial herbs, immune support tonic, topical skin drops are just not turning him around. I have to keep him alive on big pharma knowing its poison but to give us time to still find a solution🙏
Moose' anniversary is on the 8th🕊️
Thankyou B❤️❤️MER🙏
My update from vet didn't post.
Had our vet visit. Yes AB inj plus oral to give. I have to give three consecutive ones then back Monday.
Doing coconut water as a saline substitute, manuka honey topical and colostrum I'll have to wait to get.
Thankyou🙏
Poor Memphis, how is he doing now?
Just saw the vet this morning. Its a vicious cycle of healing, trying.
He has a bad eye infection too. Anyway these pics after wound care makes him look so brutalized but he is so happy to go back home. Nothing was seen in the eye. I gave eye cream and more tablets. I'm going back on Friday for blood work. I ran the idea of oxygen insufflation therapy by her. She will read up on it and discuss Friday. I am still awaiting the new glacier products and colostrum from my homeopath.
Memphis seems to have energy walking, swimming, eating normal considering how he looks🙏
Oh I didn't mention the honey he reacted to and his head flared severely😣 Memphis is really going through the tests of all as I try to find him relief🥺
My msg haven't been uploading will write another shortly.
Sorry as I dont know why my updates didn't post🤔
Anyway we've had good, bad and now good but on AB again.
Colostrum arrived today but awaiting custom clearance on glacier products to see if they can keep him off AB and hinder recurring skin infections.
Enjoying the good days we have🙏
"It's not just a Dog, it's a Bull Terrier!"
www.bulliesofnc.com
No Steve. I've been trying to follow vet or homeopath advice topical solutions. I can run it by the homeopath but she'll most likely want me sticking to her AB/fungal spray.
The pics of his vet visit two weeks ago were just after fresh wound cleaning prodding, so it looks horrific at the time but was happy to be done. They are now drying but its a false positive. All blood work indicates good.
Only until he ceases AB do we get a true indication how he is internally doing. So far haven't nailed it.
Customs haven't cleared the Glacier immunity products the homeopath suggested to try🙄
As I said, we are enjoying the good days. He has energy and is a lot happier 😊
