I knew she had it in her. All the hard work pays off.
    You two are doing great.

Thanks Sarah and Bill! The hard work and patience is definitely paying off, we both have fun with training :) Now corrections are a different story, haha. Definitely patience on both our ends, lol.

    How's McKenzie doing?

  • that1Boomerthat1Boomer Middletown, PA
Mckenzie is learning to go into the river. She is apprehensive, but still gets in. I go in with her, but it's the whole water thing for her. She loves a good shower scrub up, open water on the other hand, not so much. So for now it is once a week river time. Each time she gets a little better. Never letting herself get in past her chest. So I sit with her and cup water over her. She will get the hang of it. With our temps hitting 95 to 100, she feels the relief of the cool water. But mind you, she is the same one that will sit in the direct sun for an hour while it is 95 out. The pup has no sense. lol
She is lovable and still very very active for a 4 year old. She makes me smile when I think how smart she is.

    Tina,
BTW, I love the bounce back to sit. Anything for a treat!!!!

Love how she listens to your hand gestures.

My Bella Rosa taught herself how to speak when she wants to go outside to potty. But if I don't react fast enough to her liking then she barks at me.  Too funny.

Awwwe I love the pics of McKenzie, especially the one in the hat- what a little fashionista! That's great that she's getting used to the river outtings and I'm glad she's doing well :)

Thanks @Seon, I use hand gestures along with voice commands. When Billie is totally focused, she'll follow my hand gestures commands without me talking :)

Bella Rosa sounds like a smart cookie!

They sure are food motivated which makes teaching them tricks fairly easy. No treats and other distractions and the commands often go unheard. :D

Lol, that's so true! I'm working on holding commands outside in distractions, It's definitely more challenging. I always have her follow through, but it takes a lot longer, lol
