LAD carrier results need advice

Hello. Need a bit of advice. I have received gen test results for my ebt girl and the LAD result says she is a carrier . I understand that I can breed her with a clear tested dog and that may produce carrier puppies but not affected puppies. I just wonder is this a common thing. I don’t want to be irresponsible. Also will stud owners shun my beautiful girl . Please be kind.

Due to your dog being a carrier there will always be a risk in giving birth to zincer puppies. If you were to breed her it would be very important that you knew the genetics of the stud you scheduled to breed with to make sure he was Clear, Genotype: N / N [ Homozygous normal ]. You would still have a small risk of developing a Zincer puppy but most likely you litter would result with 50% Clear and 50% Carriers.
Sadly most Stud Owners think just because they have a male bull terrier that they have a stud dog which isn't true at all. Very few breeders are conducting proper genetic tests prior to breeding and many of the Bull Terriers bred don't really compliment the breed in regard to Breed Standards. This is what you should be looking for when searching for a Stud Dog - https://bulliesofnc.com/finding-good-bull-terrier-stud/

I wouldn't say it's a bad thing to breed Bull Terrier that was a LAD Carrier provided the dog had all genetic tests conducted to show it was free from common breed disorders. I would highly recommend that you make 100% sure the stud you chose is Clear from LAD.
