Polyarthritis

Hello everyone! I’m new here and would like to ask if anyone has experience with autoimmune disease called polyarthritis. I have a 9 month old standard bull terrier and he’s been diagnosed today. Thank you for the answers.

Unfortunately the Bull Terrier breed in general has weaker immune systems than many other canine breeds. This is why you hear about many of them having allergies and skin problems. However, with a healthy diet and exercise it isn't difficult to keep their immune systems strong and healthy. Additionally, the NuVet Supplement makes a huge impact in maintaining a strong immune system. I provide my Bullies NuVet daily. https://bulliesofnc.com/online-store/supplements-vitamins/

Polyarthritis is rare in the Bull Terrier breed. However, it could be a genetic disorder passed down through the genes. What tests did your Vet conduct to conclude to your Bullie having polyarthritis?

  • At first they thought he has panosteitis because he is still growing. It was better for a week and then it has gotten worse because he was limping on the other side too and had a fever. They took his blood sample a couple of times and prescribed different pills for inflammatory and immune-mediated diseases. He is back to normal for now. I need to go to the vet next week for a check-up and to see what we will do in the future.
