Skin Issues

I have a 5 year old female white bully and over the last 16 months or so her skin has started to deteriorate.
She has lumps on her hocks, sores between her toes and scans on her nose.
I have taken her to the vet many many times and they keep saying it’s a skin condition and put her on antibiotics.
She gets better until the tablets finish and then it starts all over again.
She is otherwise healthy and has boundless energy and none of it seems to affect her.
I have tried changing her food but there hasn’t been any significant changes.

I’m kind of sick of putting her on medication knowing it won’t last - is there something else I can be doing ?

Medication isn't the way to resolve the skin issues. In some cases they can make the problem worse because they weaken the immune system. Apoquel is a prime example of a popular prescription medication that Vets love to prescribe. It's an expensive med that makes them money and in many cases will help a dog from itching. However, it only masks the problem and actually weakens their immune system making matters worse.

We've rescued many Bull Terriers that had serious skin issues and allergies. Some of them were on medications which obviously wasn't working for them.

What's worked for me with every dog is simply concentrating on their immune system by ensuring they are getting a healthy balanced diet, plenty of exercise, and provided a NuVet supplement daily to boost their immune system.

I highly encourage you to look into NuVet which is a natural supplement that has proven to work.

  • Oh no! I hope your baby gets sorted soon !
Moscow had a very bad reaction to grass and pollen. Among other things id assume. I started bathing him every other day and provided him with LOTS of options to help soothe his skin. I rinsed his feet after every walk and applied the foot balm. I ordered pre-probiotics to assist and I honestly began feeding more raw diet. He did end up with a bacterial infection in his feet and we got an injection for that. Bloodwork showed nothing else. His ears were very infected and drop they gave me cleared him up in a day. He has been set ever since.
