New Puppy introdcing to two young male cats

I have two young male cats, about 2 yrs old. Both are very attached to me. In about a week or two I will be getting a Bully Puppy. He'll be 8 wks next week, May 1st. I know I have a lot of work on my hands. I've had 2 Bully's in the past but no Bully is a like another one. Can someone help me with the introductory phase of this phase for me. I want them to be buddies but I can separate them at all times also but that's no fun. So who has info for me. Mike

  • Aw you're lucky you get to introduce them at such a young age! I had to introduce my 4 month old bt to my paralyzed cat and my outdoor kitty! I just let the cats do their thing and kept him restrained, of course yours being so little I recommend just keeping him in your hands or lap and let your cats come up to him first and foremost. I would want to be able to read the cats first! If they're curious thats good!! If they hiss that's okay!! I'd only recommend holding the pup so that you can pull him away from their possible slaps! My moscow got slapped plenty but at his age I was okay with it! Kitty caps have actually helped my paralyzed kitty keep from scratching him too bad lol she's ferocious and not scared of him at all. Will actually CHASE after him to get him away from where she wants to be :)) if your cats have been around your other dogs they will know how to handle themselves. But you've got to read your pup. He's going to want to be hyper and all over them if hes never seen one, kitties just need to never be able to get cornered. Plenty of high places to jump to. If your doggy barks at them just try to get his attention on you with plenty of loves and treats, make sure he knows YOU are more interesting than the kitties. Good luck! <3

Thank you for writing back and giving me some insight on bringing home a bully puppy. They are all over me, my two male cats, they are both fixed if that means anything. I have plenty of places or at least one good room where they love cause it's all windows that they can sleep and look. It has their litter boxes in so all they need is there. I know they will be jealous but I'm in my computer room where I set the crate up. I'm sure there will be plenty of crying to get to me but they will get use to it. I will exercise the puppy enough to knock him out or at least I hope so. Thank you again.
