sore/blood blister on my Bully's nose/nostril

our poor Joe has a blister on his nose that's gotten bigger over time. He does get the hot spots on his belly and stuff and we thought maybe that's what this was but...it just hasn't gone away. this is our last resort before the vet as we were wanting to know if this is something other Bully owners experience. The vet seems to always be trial and error on some things when it comes to our Joe Dirt. Thanks for your input!

I would seek the opinion of a vet. It looks like a growth, not so much a blister. there are so many factors to look at. No one person on this forum will be able to diagnose it from pictures alone. It could be a cyst or tumor or even environmental factors. All the best. Joe's coloring reminds me of my first EBT. I love brindle/white patterning. Good looking boy you got.
  • Looks similar to a sore my pitty had on her anus ,I believe the vet treated it with antibiotics and a cream...
  • I am not sure how old Joe is, or how long its been there and I am not a vet, but histiocytomas can be common in EBT's- especially young ( under 2yo and puppies)- they're benign growths that when occur as pups and quite often can spontaneously regress on their own.

They are somtimes called button tumors and the head is a pretty common place for them.

I'd be getting it seen to by a vet-that said, if Joe's fairly young and it is a histiocytoma I'd take a conservative approach and see if it regressed on it's own over the next month or so before I opted for surgical removal - I believe some can be burnt off with dry ice type treaments( once again not sure how long its been there) - the fact its in that tricky spot right next to his nose may make things hard.

    Goodluck with your buddy !
  • Joe just turned 6 on February 2nd. The bump started about last year but recently just got bigger and redder in color. We do plan on taking Joe to the vet here soon. We were just seeing if this was something other bull terrier owners have experienced as no one around us has an EBT. i appreciate everyone's input! they may be a lot of work but they are SO worth it! the love i receive from this guy is one of a kind.
