Approximate length of an 8 week old bull terrier puppy

Hello,

I will be a new bull terrier Mum in 10 exciting days time. I will be travelling 7 and a half hours via train to collect the puppy and then travelling the 7 and half hours back home. I’m hoping to carry the puppy (Teddy) in a pet carrier but I’m now slightly worried that he may not fit and without bothering the breeder every 5 minutes I wondered whether someone would be able to tell me the approximate length of a male bull terrier at 8 weeks?

That's something I've never been asked. Normally people are wondering the weight not length of a puppy. If you're trying to find an appropriate size crate the best thing you could do is purchase one too big for him because he's going to grow very fast.

Nawwwww baby Vinnie is adorable that’s is really helpful, thank you.

The breeder got back to me and said that Teddies length from nose to bottom is 11 inches and currently weighs 3kg.

The carrier I bought is 58cm long, which is slightly bigger than the one you have mentioned above.

3kg is extremely light for a 8 week old Bull Terrier puppy. I pray your puppy is healthy. Normally our puppies are averaging 15 lbs (7kg) at 8 weeks old.

Awww what a beautiful puppy.

I agree with you there. From reading up on the breed I realised that 3kg is very light. He also looks very small still compared to the rest of the litter but he does look healthy. He was 3kg at 7 weeks or slightly before I believe. I really do hope he is healthy.

Yes he’s definitely the runt of the litter. His siblings are quite a bit bigger than him and he’s the only one deaf.

Now that you have the little fella. You can start to feed him a good quality food and watch him grow like a bad weed. Before long, he will be 20 pounds, then 30 pounds, then in a year 40 to 60 pounds. Maintain a good puppy food for at least a year and you'll see big changes in him. My first EBT was about as small as he is at 7 to 8 weeks. She bounced back and stalled out at right around 40 pounds. I suspect that the people we bought her from were not completely honest on her age or her Mexican AKC papers. But she was registered and all. Just extremely small. Until about 8 months, then she was right were she should have been. Give extra love for being small. He is cute.
