Getting second bully

Hi, hector is now 15 months old and my wife and I are thinking about getting him a friend for when we are at work during the day.
Has anyone had any issues with fighting when having two?
Also would a puppy or a dog of similar ages be better. I was thinking a bitch might be better too?

Any thoughts or advice would be great

I'd recommend a female pup as well. Just do your homework on bloodlines with appropriate temperament which makes a big difference.

I have 2 male bullies, 2 years apart.
They are both loved members of the family, and get along fine, with the rare exception. But getting a female to accompany your male would be an easier route to go. For you, and for them.
