Desperately looking to find a cure for allergies!

This is 2 year old Romey who from being 8 weeks old when I got her has always had flare ups of bad skin and itchy ears.
We have been to the vets numerous times and it’s always the same, medication (steroids) work temporary but as soon as they ware off it’s bad skin/ears are back.
I have changed her diet to a grain free sensitive to allergy diet, changed washing powder for the whole family (because she likes to sleep in our beds) to non bio washing powder.
I only wash her in doggy shampoo for itchy skin
And non of this seems to be workin.
Is it worth paying for an allergy testing kit?
Is there something I can give her daily such as anti histamines? Please help! Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Have you tried providing him a supplement which would help boost his immune system which in turn would prevent ailments which never should have affected him?

If you think you have it bad, how do you think the pup feels.
There should be no question at this point that having the vet do an allergy test is the best thing to do.
No more guess work, and no more sufferring.
And the stressfull changes that you continue to make to find the culprit will ne over, for everyone.

But on top of that, building the immune system is a must and the rewards will be self evident for a long time.

I have to agree with @chooba . An allergy test conducted by a specialist would alleviate all the guess work and allow you to know what ailments effect her and what to avoid.

  • You can give your dog Benadryl if he gets really uncomfortable, just google the dosage. I have 2 dogs that suffer from allergies and both are currently on apoquel, I know a lot of you disagree with giving dogs this and believe me I would love to stop. My dogs are on a grain free diet the vet says its environmental allergies .I do know that they are much worse in the summer at some point this winter i am going to try the supplement Nuvet that Steve recommends to see if it makes a difference. Has anyone out there done this ? Were you able to stop giving the apoquel ?

I'm confident you'll have great success with the NuVet. Just make sure you have your Bullie on a good flea and tick medication because some bullies are very sensitive to fleas and even one flea can cause them distress leading to all the scratching.
