Hello all. Eric is now 9 months and seems to be going through a nutty stage. He’s becoming more hyperactive and is enjoying destroying my house. Carpet eating is his favourite.

Before anybody mentions exercise, he gets plenty but he still acts up when we have to go to work or leave him for a period. Sometimes not even long.

I give him a Kong with treats to keep occupied but this lately hasn’t been working.

I know bulls are mad but he’s certainly more of a handful than my previous boy.

Can I introduce a crate at 9 months though or is it too late??

You probably could it would just take time why not get some baby gates and gate him in your kitchen or maybe a bedroom when you are not home ? Mackenzie is 16 months and I can"t imagine her not being crated when no one is at home . When she gets bored she gets into anything and everything .

It's never too late to introduce them to a crate. Bull Terriers naturally like to resort to a place that makes them feel safe and comfortable. It's a like a "Dog Den" to them.

We crate our Bull Terrier when not home. She loves it, gives her some rest/down time. But, not for longer than 6 hours..... Give your Bullie a treat every time they go in. When we first rescued our bullie, she hurt herself & did all sorts of damage outside when she wasn't crated. Our Vet recommended it.
