That was a cool video. I bet that Coyote was in heat. Max was showing more interest in the scent and certainly circled the area the coyote was spotted in.

Good to know I'm not the only one dealing with Coyotes. I hear them a lot at night. I think they're saying, "Steve it's hunting season soon and we're waiting for more deer carcass scraps left out for us deep in the woods where we'll be happy to lick them to the bone."

It's odd you mention foxes. I too used to see MANY foxes on my property. However, for the past 2 years it's a rarity that I run into one. I'm not sure if that has to do with the coyotes or what. I know my turkey population is still very high so I'm assuming the coyotes aren't raking too much havoc. However, many of my friends who are avid hunters are telling me I need to get rid of the Coyotes. I don't think the deer movement is being affected too much by the coyotes because I am still seeing them coming in to eat at the food plots I put out. But I am no expert on this subject. I do miss seeing the fox around the area and I have no idea what happened to them. I figured it was either the Bobcat or Coyotes. Your thoughts?
I’m not a big predator hunter so it’s something I haven’t spent a;out of time doing
When it comes to anything that looks like a dog it gets a pass from me
With that said since the coyote episodes starting I have not seen as many foxes around here either
I am being told also to get rid of the coyotes
I don’t really fear them around the bullies unless mange or rabies becomes the problems but we do have a little dog that doesn’t listen as well as my bullies and for her I am worried
We have curtailed her from going outside into the woods alone and are keeping an eye out till we figure the coyote out
My bullies are good at staying by my side while in the woods and don't wander too far off. However, do have a couple Bullies that will chase after a deer if they see one. Luckily the chase doesn't last for more then a couple minutes and they retreat right back with a little disappointment for not being able to catch the deer. My worry is running into a momma bear with her cubs or a angry bobcat. The coyotes here keep their distance from people and it's a rarity that I ever run up on one. That one you have in that video of yours seems to be pretty gutsy and might have me a little concerned especially if he decides to recruit a pack of his friends for a hunting escapade of his own. One blessing about these woods here is that there are no skunks or porcupines that can become an issue with my Bullies.

We have a lot of ticks as well. I have them on Flea and Tick preventative but I still spray them with some home made repellent when we go for walks out in the woods. http://bulliesofnc.com/tick_repellent_recipe/

Lady is just starting to come into heat also so a lot could be going on
Out first interaction was a few weeks ago and the one before that was a few months
I’m just happy with the progress of the dogs and I’m proud of them at only 14 months
They are far from finished but doing great
