Puppy head shape

So I've found an old topic about head shape and how it's hard to tell what the puppy will look like when it gets older. I saw a post from Steve talking about the bump on the head, short muzzle, and high cheek bones. Well, I was hoping my new puppy Ruby will look just like her sister. However, I don't think that will be the case. Here are some pics of what Ruby looked like at 5 wks.

I still love her to pieces, just thought it was interesting how much they change and how different they can be from other siblings.

She has a slight overbite, maybe that's why her nose seems more pointy?
i guess it could be worse!

At around 8 months old you should be able to make an accurate assessment of her head development. At around 20 Months old she will be at full maturity and development.

I remember when we first got Mackenzie I was sure she was a mix its amazing how much they transform between 5 months( when we rescued Mack) and 16 months ,there is no doubt she is a mini bull terrier .

If you want to get a good idea of what the head is going to look like it's best to study the head shape of the sire and dame. Head shape changes a lot on pups as they grow. Sometimes the head look a lot better on a small puppy and after they're fully grown the head may not be as wide or football shaped as expected. Genetics are important.

BulliesofNC, thanks Valkyrie's sire was short and stocky, very VERY rounded head... I have read the pups generally take much of their appearance from the sire... Her dame was also a pretty dog, she didn't have as full of a profile in comparison to the sire, but it was pronounced none the less... I'm hoping she takes after the sire to be honest.
