Lump on ear

Hi All. I have a 2 yr old female bullterrier. She has developed a lump about 6 week ago the size of a pea (and it growed a bit) at the outside of her ear just where it connects to the head. She keeps scratching it and breaking the skin so it won't heal at all and bleeds a little. Any ideas what this could be?

Any lump like that should be checked by a Vet so they can find out if it's something serious or not. The last thing you want to do is ignore something that could be cancerous. Your Vet can do a biopsy on it and let you know what it is. Most likely it's just a benine growth, wart, or a cyst. However, if your dog is irritated by it and scratching at it I would have it removed. A simple procedure that your Vet would most likely recommend anyway.

  • I agree.  Make a vet appointment and get it checked out.  It is probably nothing, but better safe than sorry.
